Just a few suggestions I had regarding this Armor set. I feel as though the in-game model is not as impressive as its concept art (though, that’s usually the case with most things). I doubt my suggestions would be acted upon by the dev’s, but here it goes anyways.

Seraph Heavy Armor

Seraph Heavy Female Armor

Seraph Heavy Male Armor

I linked the concept art and the male/female in-game model, and attached an image of the male in-game model. I should say that the female’s in-game model looks better than the male’s, so I’ll be using the male’s model as my basis for comparison. The two still suffer from the same imperfections though.

The most noticeable difference between concept art and the in-game model, is the fact that the concept art really sticks to the whole sculpted/wing/angel motif. You can tell by the way the armor curves in the right places, as if it was formed by the wind. The legs aren’t too fat, and the hand armor curves nicely out towards the elbow.

On the other hand, the in-game model looks like I’m wearing a boulder—everything looks too rounded inwards. Specifically, the most flawed pieces are the hands and legs. The legs have some weird extra layer of plate that juts out of the side and clips with your hands and weapons. That extra layer of plate is in the concept art, but it is very slim and hugs your legs while also not sticking out into your hands. And as for the hands, the armor bends inwards as it reaches the elbow, adding to that boulder-like look, when instead it should be flowing away from the elbow like in the concept art (or at the very least, the inwards curve should straighten out a bit).

The chest/boots/shoulders/helm pieces are ok, and aren’t as visually displeasing as the hands or legs. But looking at the armor set as a whole is very frustrating, because its the only “knight in shining armor” set in the whole game, has a very high price tag, and yet it suffers from these glaring imperfections.

If anyone has felt the same way about this armor, give this thread some love, and maybe hopefully we might get an update on the in-game model.

It’s already one of the best cultural armors in the game – Humans have the best culturals in general. I’d say the Norn light armors and most of the Sylvari armors could use some buffing first.

I didn’t know whether to start a new thread on this same subject or necro this one, but I did want to voice my disappointment in the Protector’s Armor. I don’t know why we can’t dye the tabard and the tarbard’s trim separately, but until such time as we can I’m going to forgo purchasing this armor. This armor, and many others, could really use a fourth dye slot.
