[Improvement] Ease of Pet commands on the fly
I haven’t been logging in for quite some time due to the ranger slow motion combat mode bug.
So if the pet controls are ever refined, I hope it can be indicated in the patch list which is the only thing I still read.
Thanks
My Ranger has been idle for quite some time now, and will continue to sit idle due to this, and the other major flaws/bugs that make playing it zero fun. Please fix this pet issue, and also the sword “locked on attack no way to dodge” bug, and consider un-doing the recent nerf that was enacted not because the Ranger was considered over-powered, but because it was the easiest way for you to fix a graphic bug where our #1 SB attack was out of sync with the actual speed of the attack. Or just remove the Ranger from the game – if it’s not worth fixing the class, there is no reason having it out there in its current broken form.
Well we can’t force arenanet on the balancing issue. But can only hope that they are working on improving the interface of the pet system. There is so much room to improve on in my opinion.
Hi Arenanet,
Please consider the suggestion below. Your interface design is great, but I think we can do a little more to improve the ease of accessing and executing commands on the fly.
Below will help compress the 2 commands in one button and group the commands together making it easier to use one button to defend and attack on the fly during game play instead of trying to run through F1 to F3 all the time.
Press (F1) once = “Attack my target”
Press (F1) again = “Return to me”
- Above attack/defend command becomes easier to trigger and toggle.Press (F3) once = “Guard Mode”
Press (F3) again = “Avoid Combat Mode”.
- Above becomes mode control toggle.Stow Pet – (Simple solution)
Allow this command in the Key Binding Option Page. Let players bind it to a preferred key for ease of access.F2 – No changes required.
Hopefully a developer will respond as I have tried every avenue I could to suggest this.
Thank you
What if you want “attack my target” twice in a row without return in between? As I understand your suggestion, F1- attack target, target dies or for some reason you want to change target before it dies. Select next target, F1 again- pet runs to you instead of attacking target. Which means you have to double tap F1 then, once to call the pet to you then to send it out again. This seems to add an unnecessary and potentially unwanted step.
Not to blow you out of the water but all you really need to do is get rid of the return to me option and make f3 attack/passive mode switch button as when you switch a pet to passive it automatically returns to you so you could simply hit it once to make the pet return then hit again to turn it active again when you need it to be.
The pet interface is good. You can use a gaming mouse like Cyborg M.M.O. 7 for better performance
YES to this topic, I though I was the only one who thought the F1 being the attack and call back button was a good idea, although I say that when you press F1 again it the pet becomes passive, thus coming back to its master. ANET please do this.
No, F1 as recall is a bad idea. I’d always be bringing my pet back when I don’t want to.
