Hello. Recently i came back to gw2 to check how its doing after my few months break. It doesnt look better than before i must say. Ill just start to list things that im not satisfied with:

- Black Lion Tradeing Company – The search result is resetting after changing between tabs. For example. Im searching for bronze ingot, and i wanted to buy some gems for gold, done, then im going back to my bronze ingots and its gone. I have to type it again in the searching field which is so frustrating for me. Also some favorite list is needed. Everytime i want to craft something i need like 5-6 diffrent materials to search for. I could click on my favorite list to buy what i need quickly and with comfort but theres no favorite list.

- Matchmaking system for pvp/dungeons – This system is a STANDARD nowadays for players that doesnt have a whole day to spam chat to find a group for dungeon. Its simple, fast, timesaving and comfortable tool for everyone who wants to visit dungeon or battleground.

- Controlling the siege machines is a field for improvement for sure. It feels so primitive, choppy and not user-friendly that is really hard to find worse vehicle system in other games. It should be removed completly and added in the future patch when its perfectly done.

- Keep players bussy in PvE business – Collecting gear is the way in most mmo games to keep players playing the game. Its always something new to get that has more stats. Here we have tiers of gear sorted by colors. It could be good if there was like 10 diffrent colors but its not. For example, every exotic armor has the same amount of stats but the only diffrence is combination of them. Its not something that makes players to race for gear like other successful games. Im a PvE guy that prefer doing dungeons/raids and gear in that way with guild/friends. Currently dungeons are dead after you collect full set that looks nice but we are no asians. Most people wont grind few months to get something that only shines nice. I expect to develop my character by getting better and better equipment stat-wise, not by grinding item skins.

- Not laughing at all but, The game is called GuildWars2 and it doesnt offer wars between guilds ? Its like buying water in the bottle and u find mustard inside. I’d make it like betting system. Guild X want to battle against Guild Z. They aggre to put 500g each, select 10-20 best PvP members to fight for the prize and glory in bo5 series. After one side won the prize is 1000g + game generates some crafting materials as a bonus. The guild that won is now richer and have materials to gear up some of their guildmates. It would be nice to have a spectating mode that everyone on the server that want to see it could do it. Maybe spectator spot could cost gem’s or something like that to reduce spectating crowd. With that GvG system added guilds would fight against each other everyday. Some ingame ranking system rewarding top 10 guilds every month with skins/mounts/pets etc. to keep them playing, to keep players occupied.

- That was an idea for endgame Guild PvP system, its time to Guild PvE. Its hard to come up with something better than 10-20 man raids. Currently guilds are not that beneficial. Im logging-in and i see people grouping for dungeons, linking waypoints with events/bosses, trying to get people into WvWvW or helping each other to learn better about the game mechanics. A raid would be a superb idea to develop PvE guilds that are not interested in overall PvP. Look how guilds are forming and acting in other games. There are leveling/helping new players guilds, PvE mostly raids/dungeons guilds, and PvP guilds aiming for arenas/battlegrounds and other activities that includes killing other players. In guildwars2 i can notice only leveling and pvp guilds, something is missing. PvE guilds are missing because there is no content to play for the whole guild like PvP guilds has WvWvW or battlegrounds.

- Communicate more with your players – An idea is making a video every month about things you are working on. Put some person that is goodlooking and speaks fluent english infront of camera and record for like 10min. Explain gameprogress, show some artwork, show your work place, tell interesting story, spoil future game update with screenshots/videos etc. to show players that you care about them, to show you are a normal group of people making the game they are playing. Also i’d make a very visible ingame poll from time to time to ask players what they r expecting in the upcoming patch. Do they want a new dungeon? or battleground? maybe new zone with events? Its a nice way to get knowledge about the most desired thing that is needed ingame. Information right from the source, from players, for players.

Thats all i can think of right now. Im sure there are more things i forgot about. People can say the other MMO games that are popular are longer on the market has more experience but i say its not true. All the experience of a popular MMOgame has is visible for others. Just play their game and look what they learned for the past 5-6 years. What ingame systems they are using, just ask yourself while playing, whats making the game so successful and popular. Simple conclusions, some modifications and you’ve got tested and liked ideas in your game that are drowing more and more players to you.

To Arenanet: Look at others games, what ideas/systems/improvements are successful/popular and implement it to your game. Nobody cares if some forumtroll says “omg GW2 is a WoW clone QQ”. Just do what ur players expect you to do, to make them happy. If players are happy they are spending $$$ in your ingame shop that makes you happy. Remember, satisfied players = satisfied game dev$.

Take care and make the game better everyday. See You in game

Well done! It’s quite essential what You did write. I would really like to see some of this in-game soon! And one more thing:
- if I join a battleground with my friends in party, I WOULD LIKE to play with them in this battlegroun!! Srsly, why joining in party we are not joined TOGETHER @?!

Very well thought out and expressed post. I would only add that the rewards from these events could also be used to build and furnish a Guildhall.

Great post!

ArenaNet, if you’re watching the forums, please, READ THIS THREAD and please, make this topics a TOP PRIORITY!
I was about to make a post about the same ideas (not so well thought as the OP), how the game is getting less and less interesting, and the new January update that didn’t changed most people opinions.
If you care about your players, about the Guilds that are at their limits to stay in the game and about the ones that want this game to succeed, it’s now or never!

- Not laughing at all but, The game is called GuildWars2 and it doesnt offer wars between guilds ? Its like buying water in the bottle and u find mustard inside. I’d make it like betting system. I would actually improve more on this idea.

This is idea is very simillar to Perfect World International’s world wars.
In PWI we had an entire world to conquer, divided by many regions and the purpose of the guilds was to conquer all the regions in the map. The more regions a guild had, the better it was because it gained fame, each map would bring gold to the guild at the end of the week and it brought a healthy competition between guilds.
If a guild wanted to conquer a region it had to pay to attack it. If the attacked region has no owner, they would do a PVE instance to get it. If it has an owner, the owner would have to accept the attack and then the battle would happen in an instance (a map simillar to LOL and Smite maps but much bigger). The battles would happen all in the same days and almost at the same times of the day. If a guild had many regions beeing attacked at the same time then it had to chose between defending them all with less manpower each or to lose some of them in order to keep other maps safe.
But you could bring as many people as you wanted.

Now, I would add some things and would like to see if Kaktuch could comment on them too, since it’s an adaptation of his great idea.

1- Instead of 10vs10, I would make GvG with different “divisions” where they can sign-up to participate. There are 3 divisions: the 1st has 30vs30 battles; the second has 20vs20 battles, and the 3rd has 10vs10 battles.
This would make the competition between guilds really high while giving all the guilds a chance to be one of the best in one of the divisions at least, and more things to do for bigger and/or more hardcore guilds since they can sign-up for the 3 divisions.

2- Each guild has it’s own “castle” and they can chose between 2, 3 or more castles to be their defending keep. They can chose a castle by spending gold, and that castle would be their home, at least untill they decide to buy another one, which should be really expensive in order avoid those guilds with more real money invested to change their castle all the time, to help ArenaNet with some more microtransaction options and to give guilds an oportunity to plan their battle ahead (A guild might now another guild’s map and chose a better tactic to win, or the other guild might be one step ahead and chose another castle before the battle in order to avoid that).

3 – There could be a map with many regions, like in PWI, only for GvG or theye could take the WvW and change it completelly to help this idea work propperly. Right now, WvW is not enough for guilds and has a lot of issues to solve, but I doubt they will make changes like these in something with so much work and time invested already.
