Good day Anet! I would like to thank you very much for in game mail, it has helped me very much in my duties as an admin and guild leader. Please allow me to make some suggestions that will allow me to not spend as much time doing seckittenial jobs and more time playing.

Email character limit:
This is very frustrating for me because I like to type eloquently and limiting my text only makes me use short hand which doesnt do justice to what I am trying to communicate.

URL Links:
It would be really really really handy to be able to send links to people not only in mail but in chat as well. I find when I am trying to link someone to a map or to our guild forum page many do not like having to retype the URL. It would be a lot better if we could just click on the link and it would pop a browser up. Maybe make an ingame browser that using IE or something? It would be nice to at least be able to highlight and copy and paste from the mails or chat. In guild wars one we used to use the build pinging system to send URLs which at least worked. Now in this newer game we cant even do that. Please help us with this.

Guild Mass Mail:
When ever I have some type of memo I want to send out to the guild I am having to take an hour going one by one sending it and I am getting a spam message in doing so. I update people on guild happenings and give suggestions to each. This really take time away from me being able to play to do this. Dont allow a couple of bad apples to spoil the experience that admins can have using these systems. I am sure you guys can use some kind of filter to find the gold sellers rather than just limit the rest of us from using these great tools. It would be very amazing if I could create custom contact groups in the mail so I could send one mass mail to just my officers and another to the members.

I agree with you about the Guild Mass Mail. Me and guild are planning on holding a raffle and best way to send it is by mailing everyone at once. Right now I have to mail everyone one by one which is a pain in the butt.

URLs could be exploited by gold sellers and scammers. It is very easy to use some link length shortener (i.e. TinyURL) to cover a keylogger or other nastiness.

This isn’t about you. It’s about the other 80% of the internet that are fools, cannot be trusted to even count on their own, and get their account swiped. Anet’s compromised account restoration policy is already generating horror stories. Is allowing another possible security hole REALLY worth it? Internet security is a scary thing even for those that do such things for a living. The standard end user is a fool. That’s why Windows/Mac OS/Ubuntu all have cautionary “are you sure you meant to click this?” built in to EVERYTHING that one does. Hell, look at all the people complaining about accidentally buying the wrong armor at a vendor? Now add the ability for a bad link to install a keylogger, pillage their bank accounts (in time), and leave them financially ruined. They will claim they ‘accidentally’ clicked it and Anet is to blame. :-P

If memory serves, the text in Mail is selectable.

Actually only the text in the mail composition window is selectable. You cannot select text from the chat window or a mail that you have received.
