In-Game Web Browser
I don’t see a need for it personally. This isn’t Secret World where you needed to research quest lines out of the game…
Adding a web browser into GW2 really serves no purpose… especially when you can easily alt tab.
yeah, but i don’t like alt+tab xD!
The TP is actually a browser. So this could be done easily. It would destroy immersion, but so does alt-tabbing out, and I do that anyway to look up mats and funny enough, to use TP scrape websites to find current prices on items, becuse it is far far easier to use than the TP search right now.
TP is a browser, prolly why they don’t have the “Preview” option available on it.
Just alt-tab or get another monitor (gotta love dual monitors – I couldn’t live w/out em)

Overwolf could be for you. Has lots of apps including a browser that you can access without leaving the game.
If you have an enjin.com website there is an enjin client that has this too.
I’m not connected with Overwolf, just someone who uses the enjin version
Just use the steam overlay.

Just throw money at the problem or continue to be inconvenienced is not a solution. If anything Id use fullscreen window mode and set a browser window up set to always stay topmost.
its definitely easy to implement ^^
already added myself a tab to the trading post as a ingame browser.
not able to create own windows ingame yet though.
@ alykatz Thanks for the tip about Overwolf! It looks like exactly what I needed. I only have one monitor and find myself having to play in windowed mode because I can’t see MSN chat etc. Going to try it as soon as I get home.
Yea, they implemented this in SWG, was very useful!
There’s no need for it, really. Considering the amount of work that would be required, I’d much rather see resources directed into something more important. If you really want to browse whilst playing, then…just alt tab.

That’s an unfair assessment of my suggestion. Either way, money will get “thrown at the problem” – whether it’s on ANet’s side or the client’s. The tone of my suggestion was more along the lines of “this is a problem that us consumers have the resources to solve on our own”, so why not let the devs at ANet work on solving the issues we can’t?
Certainly it would be nice to have an in-game browser, but if you’ve ever worked in a software development shop that takes their products seriously (even in agile dev shops), there is no such thing as a “simple solution”. If it was my vote, I’d say let the ANet focus on other critical problems right now.
