In-game codex
Agreed. Though I would prefer it be mixed up with the WAR style of unlocking where you needed to do several things to unlock a full codex entry. For example, fully unlocking a zone entry might require 100% map completion and having done the Zone’s major event chain and Dungeon story where applicable.
Conversely, having fully unlocked a Codex entry should providea minor bonus. Nothing game breaking. Maybe a 1% damage bonus for enemies whose codices you’ve fully unlocked, or a 1% boost to Karma gain while you’re in a zone whose codex you’ve fully unlocked.
Yeah.
- Each monster defeated should have an entry in a bestiary.
- Each book read and each story you hear should have an entry in a lore journal.
- Each letter received should be ‘archived’ into your letter diary instead ‘deleted’ when you remove them from your mail list.
GW2’s lore and RP sides would greatly improve with things like those.
I definitively agree. I would love to see an in-game bestiary with option to zoom in and rotate the 3D model only because You made great looking enemies. During fight there is absolutely no time to get closer look at them.
If You don’t want to create bestiary as collectible additional quests (although it would be great to get more info about specific monster when fighting it) then You could use information/variables from quests and points of interesting where those enemies appears – if someone visit specific place or finish some quests then it unlocks information about monsters related to this place/quest.
Would be great, and really fit the “theme” of the game, trying to encourage exploration as such. Any potential reward for it however should be only EVER able to affect PvE, No effects in not even WvW please. Maybe a decrease in wp costs for the zone of a the certain codex or what we call it, could be a potential reward as many ppl find the price too high at higher lvl.
+1
Would love to have this in game.
