In game timer/Event timer
That would be nice for some things.
As for the events, there is a timer for dragons and some other here. But an in game one would be kind of neat.
They went through all this trouble to try and make the world at least feel dynamic and alive, and you want them to put a timer in it.

How else will we know if a meta event is up, Spend 2-3 silver going to the area to check every time we think it’s up? It’s not like the whole world lets you know when a dragon comes up.
The map should be filled with all events, not just the one near you.

It’s not supposed to let you know. It’s part of the design. Putting timers in is just a step back towards static quests. And it’s a dumb move since tons of people would just be jumping maps and ending up on overflows where there’s no event.
You can always ask people. I’m sure someone on your map has a guildie who’s currently on that map.
There are several websites that show the dragon timers, there is even an app for iOS and Android I believe that lets you see the timers from your phone. I don’t really think it needs to be add to the game as without it, it allows players to come across the events themselves instead of getting a timer saying “Claw of Jormag has just spawned” then anyone who didn’t know about it before, does now. This will take away alot of the exploration to come across the events instead of being directed to them.
OK so the world event timer is a bad idea, however i think the player controlled timer would still be a nice feature.
