I hope mods here will not understand this as a personal attack on them in any way and close this thread immediately. It is not. It is a discussion about how I think modding here should work and to clarify some terms that I think are not correct. That’s why this is in a Suggestions section of forum.
Today I have again stumble upon overzealous moderator. Some threads about Orr were closed. I participated in one of them.
Now that thread is closed with announcement that anything regarding Orr is in one thread that is supposed to be merged.
It’s not.
Only title say [merged], content is not merged at all. My posts are gone. General topic in this [merged] post is not the same as it was in closed post.
I do not question action of mod, he is after all something like god here. If he doesn’t like the content of thread, he can close it. If he think that too many threads address same question, he can [merge]them into one.
I question technical deployment of this action. If title say [merged] I understand it is [merged]. Posts from closed thread are moved to the [merged]one, even if general topic is not connected to the approved thread in any other point but only with part of name, witch contain word Orr in both cases.
So, finally, my suggestion (2 COA):
1st -Make [merged] posts really merged. Two threads molded into one. posts from both threads are there, sorting is done by time stamp of posts.
2nd -Change the explanation or whatever is it called to appropriate one. Like [approved] or [general topic about]or [(anything else besides merged)].
