Incorporate heroes / henchman

There’s more that needs to be done before this could be implemented. The main thing being AI would need to be improved greatly – ability to detect incoming, move out of AoE and dodge, smart usage of abilities ect.
Not to mention any content that can be completed with the aid of NPC’s is most likely going to be too easy for a group of actual players.
Time is a river.
The door is ajar.
If this suggestion actually gets anywhere, we might as well remove the multiplayer element of GW2 altogether.

Please not this argument again.
This argument was used in GW1 about the increase of 4 to 7 heroes per player.
Obviously players that were using 3 heroes and 4 henchmen kept using 3 heroes and 4 henchmen until they could use 7 heroes, which improved their game experience without detracting from the players that like to play with only players experience.
Likewise, people that dislike dungeons or doing dungeons with other players will just not do them.
There are several arguments against heroes/hennchmen in GW2 but this one isn’t one of them.
problem is; how do you balance it such a way that it isnt better than having real players and not so useless than it becomes as pointless as Logan and that….charr in CoE, where they spent 96% time dead?
If you make them too weak then it will be the same as not having them, they would probably act like dummies like PvE mobs, only there as a DPS source. They woudl not know how to follow command; try fighting Alpha with them, they will wipe the moment you start the fight. Are you aware of how much programing it would be necessary to make them do CoF p1, the balls, the 4 switches, how do you make them know which one will do the gate? How do you make them know where to skip? How do you make them know when to dodge, what skills they should use, what tactic you have in mind, how would they react if you decide to make it as a 2 players 3 henchmen? etc etc etc etc etc the list can go on.
Too much work and it goes agaisnt what the game stands for; being social. If you dont like PuGs get your own henchmen; aka guild mates and friends. There is just too much work to do besides just programing them for every single dungeon and every single path.
Im well against it, they should never put resources into this, if anything, important things need attention like; class balance, precursor crafting, optimization, reward system, UI, animations, clipping, game polishing, improvement of the game core mechanics, etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc
Legendary SoloQ
Nah, not stupid nehcmen that are pregiven..
Let us use OUR OWN CHARACTERS from our account as NPC COMPANIONS
much better that way and especially “personal”/unique"
+1, and if they put a mercenary system in the gem store like in gw1……
