Infinite supply of arrows?
there is a rare back item (or two) that are quivers full of arrows.
that seems to be the closest anet chooses to deal with this issue.
There are no limitations to ammunition for firearms or the charges to scepters, stave’s, Foci, or any number of weapons that create magical effects. The game is scaled on the resource of time, via cool downs (with the exception of thieves ) not the resource of stockpiled ammunition or magical charges. Any change to that system would cause a need for an entire game re-balance.

Ahh, my mistake. In that case, I see no reason it couldn’t work to make it appear a quiver is losing arrows, but it would seem odd to see arrows continue to fire after a quiver goes empty. Just seems like an idea that is hard to justify using resources on.

well, if they make 10 arrows in a quiver, they could make it so after quiver gets down to five arrows, the arrows start to regenerate like 2 per additional used. which would give a sense of arrows actually be used but never get to empty point. However i don’t think ANET will go so deep into cosmetic programming.
