As an avid sPvP player, I feel as though I am not providing as much to my guild as I could if I were to be PvE’ing or WvWvW’ing. The amount of influence one gains from doing sPvP is very VERY tiny. 5 influence per WIN was it? Thats hardly anything. Now, I know that if the guild was a pure sPvP guild and was raking in the wins, then yea that’d actually amount to something but it still wouldn’t equal the amount of speed a well-off PvE player could gain influence with gold alone. Being able to buy influence with glory would be fantastic, and I feel would encourage, if only a few players, to do sPvP more often.
This leads to another problem, right now, for sPvP guilds, theres hardly any use for influence at all! I know its hard to come up with things that a guild would even want that doesn’t provide any sort of imbalance. My suggestion is that maybe add different types of finishers that the guild members can purchase from a vendor or be used similar to the banners or influence gain buffs. Additionally, you could add capes as a back item with various styles and levels of flashiness that you could purchase.
