Last year there were people idling in toypocalypse, many players got angry over it.
This year they kind of fixed it. Kind of, because anyone who won’t move in 1min time will be kicked out back to loading screen and will have to suffer dreadful Lion’s Arch loading screen(5-8mins for me).
I can’t imagine worse punishement for idling, the problem is I often get kicked out BEFORE my loading screen even ends.
It’s a bit hard to enjoy wintersday, when you have to look at the bloody loading screen every time you want to enter an instance…especially if the game doesn’t treat you fair and kicks you out in the middle of loading. Maybe I missed something, maybe there is some kind of option to move your character while in loading screen. I don’t see it and as you imagine I get a little irritated, so does every party I join. I realize it may be fault of my PC, but I really think that no matter what – it shouldn’t happen. I shouldn’t get kicked out before I get chance to even start playing.
Hope no one else suffers from this issue.

Can we maybe not do this anymore? Could we have events like this all over tyria? Or at least in each race’s home instance or something? It’s the same thing with Scarlet – they always seem to want all players from the server on one map at the same time. I just don’t get it. Why NOT making it accessible in 5 different places instead of 1?

Not sure if it’s a complaint or a suggestion. Putting it in here though.

Cheers.
Also merry christmas.

I can see the problem but I doubt Anet is gonna fix that since this is not permanent content. I agree with your point though, I can understand that people who owns a medium/low budget computer suffers from this.

I however am not one of them so I maybe sound degrading and stupid asking this but if you’re not already playing the game on lowest have you tried setting everything on ‘’best performance’’ before entering toypocalypse?

I support your point though since this game is built to be playable on so many different price range computers.

Well yes, the problem is my graphic card isn’t that good and even if I set it to the lowest setting, I still get a massive loading screen time. I don’t really have problems with any other instances, I usually can teleport to a different map within 30seconds(max).
Thank you for your support…and yes, I doubt they will do anything about it. I already tried increasing my fps, decreasing my loading screen time(game booster, deleting local.dat etc.). It works well for different maps, but it doesn’t seem to have much effect on Lion’s Arch.
The fault for slow loading is partially mine, as I often run multiple programs at the same time, but it’s definitely not my fault that my loading counts as being inactive. :/

It would be great if they either increased the time before kicking out to 2-3mins, or if they would somehow set it that the loading screen doesn’t count as being inactive. Having a “switch” to begin would be probably the best option.
Then again, I still don’t know why did they choose this option. Wouldn’t it be better for it to work like a party? Why not giving other players option to kick out an idle player? :/ Works with dungeons, right?
