Guild Wars 2

First of all i wanna say this is something that other mmo uses and when i say other mmo i mean World Of Warcraft.After all it is the same genre as Gw2 so i don’t see a reason why not to put this thing in game.
Inspect:
So what this means is to actually take a look at players weapon,armor,traits maybe even achievements…It would be very useful feature so you would not have to wisper other player and bother him whit questions to link you the weapon he uses,gear,runes….You could see all of those things by only 1 click and it would be cool to compare your achievements whit his.Its not necessary but it would be cool feature.

I personally actually like not having inspect, it makes it feel less critical to check your party members and their gear, and makes you more likely to trust them.

I didn’t mean to put inspect for that reason,that is something else and in this game its not really that important for dungeons that are lower than lvl 80.And since nobody can kick you from WvW or some events..Reason is up and you can read it again

I agree it would be abused by the elitists for pugging. But I don’t pug anyway and I’d just love to know what the name of certain armor or weapon skins are. I support an inspect feature.

but thats how it would be used and you would be naive to think otherwise . Also just because WoW has it doesnt mean all MMOs should have it . Thats flawed logic

I’ve answered threads like this so many times that I’m sick to death of repeating myself. If you want to see my thoughts and reasons why I’m against an inspection option, you can look in one of the other thousand or so threads covering this very topic.

Why should this feature be abused in citadel of flame,or ascalonian catacombs or any other dungeon under lvl 80.Its not meant to be used for thakittens meant to be used for new players to help find things easyer.If you say its normal that people will abuse it those are not people those are just…There is more benefit than lost in this feature..

No. Look at the million other threads on this topic and see the hate against it. It is not that hard to ask someone to ping their gear or ask for advice.

Such a great way for elitist to push their kitten around. I had one guy harassing people in PvP because he was getting beaten constantly, next round he stayed in the lobby but as a spectator followed my friend around and spam whispered them about everything they are doing wrong, essentially giving ‘advice’ in the most condescending manner possible, an inspect feature would only increase this so no thank you. (Also the ping feature exists for a reason, let people share what they want to share)

basically this. I have a hard enough time not getting insta-booted for being the wrong class (I have the GALL to try and do CoF p1 as an engie), if people knew I had one piece of knights gear they would loose their kitties.

I think it’d be a nice addition to the game. Not for elitism purposes, but to be able to help out a guildy without him having to link all his gear or even seeing someone who has awesome armor or weapons and not needing to whisper them about it. I’d be able to just see what it is by inspecting.

Wouldn’t transmutation make all that pointless anyway? As far as I’m aware, I can change the look of my armour, yet keep the name and stats of my old one.

Seriously there is already a “inspect” its called whisper. Do you want to see what people always have in their banks too? If it bothers them then they don’t want to share it.

I support full transparency of spec and gear.

At least partially because the folks against the idea went into full insult mode first here, and in every other thread it has been asked for that I have seen.

I fail to see how raising concerns over elitism and PUG abuse are in any way, an “insult”.

I should note that at this time some posts have been trimmed from this thread, though at the time of your reply they where still here. That is a very kind paraphrase you have of them.

Elitist is used as an insult and dismissal of argument about as often as noob or bad is. Equating elite play and bad pug treatment as coming from the same people is an insult. If that is not insulting I have a bridge to sell you, or perhaps some land in florida.

Strangely enough Arenanet has stated the intention of removing magic find gear from the game. They have already started to add that stat to our accounts.
