I would like to suggest an instance timer for when finishing a dungeon. Am suggesting this because I’m encountering (more than once) players who leave the party as soon kitten he grabs the last chest, kicking everyone out regardless if they have picked it up or not.

The timer should work similar to the one in Guild Wars Eye of the North, meaning as soon as the first person open the chest a timer of 2 minutes starts. When the timer ends everyone will be kicked out.

I would suggest the exact opposite solution: Stop kicking players out of a dungeon just because the guy who started it left.

So I was right there with you until the end. I don’t see how that solves the problem. A better solution is, after the group leader leaves a timer of two minutes starts giving anyone remaining that much time to finish up and leave.

Agree with Lures, no reason for everyone to get booted from the dungeon when the original person leaves.

I’m guessing the reason is because the person who started it is the one used in cut scenes… So why not just make second person to join (or random player) the new ‘leader’?
