Job Board for Guilds
I actually think I like this idea better than the current guild missions.
I’m glad I am not the only one. These jobs could include cut-scenes and instances similar to the personal story, so players can feel more embedded in the gw2 world.
Anyone else have an interest in completing personally chosen “jobs” on behalf of their guild(s)?
So what, you want to turn GW2 into Fairy Tail or Final Fantasy Tactics? Actually, what made those series so fun is that guild atmosphere and the importance of the members after completing those requests. I think this would be a fantastic addition once they add in guild halls.
I could imagine these working similar to the Zaishen quests from GW1. First, they would be daily, meaning you couldn’t just complete these one after the other, making them feel slightly more important and urgent. Second, completing them would add influence to your guild as well as netting you the reward offered in the request. Third, there would be a variety of different requests, ranging from exploration to combat, offering both solo requests as well as team requests. They should also be instanced, so random zergs can’t just come in and complete it for you. Or, only make the enemy hostile towards the person(s) doing the battle, so no other people can interfere. This would not only add content to the game, it would give the ability to add viable team content outside of dungeons while giving more incentive to join Guilds. It would also incentivize people to interact with their guilds as well, and not just be another number.
You could add achievements towards these quests, and start awarding titles for completing enough, similar to the PvP achievement line now. Doing enough requests would “Rank” you up in the guild and give you prestigious titles. It would also notify the guild leaders who is helping the guild and who isn’t.
I like the idea, and I see a lot of potential in it. Hopefully Anet sees it the same way.
Thanks for the reply Loki. Your suggestions are exactly the type of system I was thinking. I hadn’t even thought about creating a ranking system similar to WvW or PvP. Now that you’ve mentioned it, it seems like a great way to increase the atmosphere and camaraderie of being in a guild.
Keeping the job requests instanced or making the enemies only hostile to guild members appears to be a good plan to prevent random zergs from interfering.
This could be a really cool feature
And Loki’s way of putting it is I think perfect
Beyond The Wall [Crow]
WvW Havoc Leader
Wonderfull idea. But sadly it will never be complete until giild halls are implemented.
It will be nice for guilds that dont focus on pvp and focus more on pve.
but searching a mob and kill it as a guild is already in the game… this would just add fluff to a simple click… and guild puzzles are really entertaining also…
i like your idea don’t get me wrong, but something that sounds amazing in an anime maybe be very dull in an mmo.
i would like if they added some kind of guild story mode, or dungeons (with no time counting down, like a normal dungeon) expanding the idea of the guild puzzles…
maybe a mash up of all the guilds missions all in an instance (maybe a easier and shorter version of those in order not to take hours to complete it)
Join the Rainbow Pride
I like this suggestion and Loki’s addition. It would be great of some of the activities were easily done solo are with a very small number of guildmates.
This game is simple missign the typical NPC Guilds, which act similar like some kind of faction you can work on for their reputation.
These kind of assignment guilds which can give a player various kinds of tasks to do for them and give you for the completion of the task money, exp, reputation ect. and with raising reputation, you rank up in their reputation lists to gain the right to do harder tasks over time for them, which result in better rewards.
Everyone knows the game series of “Monster Hunter”, right ?
The system is simple… your character is part of a “Hunter Guild” and you go out to kill the monsters that are WANTED dead or alive and you get paid for doing the Job like some kind of “mercenary”.
So more often you do jobs for that guild, so higher reputaed will you become among this guild, so that the guild starts to favor you for doing special jobs for them, which normally no one would do freely because of them beign very dangerous and risky, but the rewards get bigger therefore.
We know these types of assignement guilds for alot of varous types crom different offline rpgs.
Be it the Hunter Guild for hunting Monsters…
Be it the Trading Guild for Escort Missions, Saving Missions ect. of Merchants
Be it the Thief Guild for shady missions of Stealing, Spying, Sabotaging, Stealthing ect.
Be it Detective Agencies (Marjory!) for Investigation Missions (playing the police in town)
Be it General Assigment Guilds which give you various general tasks, like collecting stuff x for someone, savign a kids lost cat from a tree ect. pp
This are the things I miss in GW2, which would massively make this game world more full of life.
Shameless bump.
I’m interested to hear more players suggestions/thoughts/concerns regarding a system like those mentioned above.
