Karma for Guild Promotion
Not a bad idea. Karma is useless to me and this idea would certainly help the small guilds get access to the new guild content.
…but Anet don’t care. More grind = Better game.
I’ve only seen this brought up once before and it was a good idea then. The more options available to us to convert things to guild use the better. Not like there is much else to do with them.

What would prevent someone buying a promotion and kicking all of their subordinates? More than one guild (in other games, at least) has been devastated by some obnoxious jerk booting all the members and leaving.

Influence is not guild rank, it’s a currency that accrues to the guild that the guild leader and their appointees can use to open research trees, bonuses, missions, etc. You can’t buy a guild rank with influence.

That is a pretty funny misunderstanding, though.

Sadly I’m packed with a huge amount of karma and not enough money (I have holes in my hands and can’t keep money for anything, well actually I’m not really good in stocking money in this game).
Having the ability to spend karma on influence could really help everyone and let every guild member to participate in the research costs.

I’ve saved every karma consumable I’ve earned for a long time. I have so much potential karma it’s rediculous. So far I’m up to 7 different kinds. I have no interest in using them because I don’t have anything I need them for. If this was a thing I’d chug them all then put it all into my guild.

This sounds like a great idea! It makes sense for your personal karma to to contribute to your guild’s influence. I also think karma has limited usefulness to a large chunk of players so this would give it a nice boost.

Yeah, I kept reading “Buy guild promotions with karma” over and over, and “guild promotion” only meant one thing to me. That’s probably because I’ve never paid the NPC to “promote” my guild, but I have promoted guild members.
Consider changing the title, but I think I get it now.
