Hi all,

First you will need some back story, was looking at another armour set for my warrior, but didn’t want to blow another 50g+. Decided to grab the exotic karma gear from orr. My warrior was mostly levelled through crafting so it lacked any exploration of the area. My thief on the other hand has 100% of orr so I took a wonder over to a temple and purchased a full set of gear. No soul bind warnings shouted at me (and I did also not see the bind on acquire). After this out goes in my bank and I log back on the warrior only to find that it was soul bound to my thief.

After running back to the vendor and seeing that there is no return option I decided to create a help ticket in hope that they could help…

In which case can I stress the need for either the GMs on your side to be either given the correct tools or permissions to do this, as with every other mmo I have played. Or for a return of used items to the karma vendor within a set time frame. Or even better make it bind to account or even bind on use but not sellable.

Is it not possible at all for this armor to be either deleted and a new set to be given to the warrior or something similar. I have had similar problems on multiple other games and i have always managed to have this fixed as a one time fix. i wouldnt mind but the 250k+ karma has taken months to get. I do not recall any “this will soulbind on aqcuire” messages. anything is better than just counting my losses.

Hello Richard,

Thank you for contacting the Guild Wars 2 Support Team.

We understand that you bought heavy armor with your thief for your warrior but that you can’t transfer it since it is soulbound. Unfortunately we are not able to refund the karma you spent on the armor in this situation.
Please be more careful the next you buy items.

If you have any further questions, please contact us again.

I just purchased a full set of karma gear (Heavy Rubicon xxxx of Lyssa) for my Warrior (Fyrr Targaryen) whilst on my Thief (Aríá) upon purchasing the gear and putting it in my bank it would appear that the gear is Soulbound and i cannot equip it on my Warrior. Would it be possible to either get a full Karma refund or for it to be soul bound to my Warrior?

Regards,

Richard

I understand that it was my fault, and that it seems they are powerless to help. But shouldn’t there be the protocol or features to aid in the people not suffering the same losses I have?

I am well aware that this is entirely my fault, but it has highlighted the need for a return function or extra gm abilities (if they are indeed unable to assist like indicated). Even a change to the soul binding on these items would work.

karma items state “soulbound on accuire” in the discription
can’t see why this should be needed when its clearly stated in the description.

also 250k karma shouldn’t take u months to gather. i spend 500k karma every month on orrian jelery boxes because i got no other use for karma lol :p

I thought every karma item was soulbound on acquire. At least I recall it being that way from the first karma item I ever purchased with my first character up until now.

I’ve been there. In fact, just the other day, I bought a stinking medium chest piece when I meant to buy a heavy one. Had to save it for mystic toilet trash to get some kind of return out of it at least, since you can’t salvage, sell or anything else with it.

Most games I have played don’t even show armor/weapons that the character can’t use in vendor lists, or at least have them greyed out or unavailable to purchase. I don’t see why there would be an issue with having a buyback feature for cases like this, as I noticed it almost immediately after purchasing the piece.
