Label dye options
honestly too much work. Easier to just redye something and see what it changes -_- and i have quite the list of things i’d want to see changed before this
Don’t chase shadows, cuz you just might find whats in ’em – Cpl Braunsberg
I think that when you mouseover the square, it should show a “preview” of what it will look like, and then when you click on the square, it’s applied permanently. It’s annoying to dye something, then realize that was the wrong section, and have to figure out which dye was there before.
Especially since there’s no “undo” option. The only undo button is to undo ALL changes — I can’t just undo the last click I made, I have to find the proper dye and put it back in that spot. Especially annoying with the town clothes that are dyed black in some places by default, and I CAN’T change them back, because I don’t own that color.

Too much work? All they would be doing is showing us the description that they already use to describe what will be changed. The designers already refer to these things as something (e.g. primary or surface or laces or whatever). All I’m asking is to expose that something to us. I’m not saying it’s “free,” but it’s as easy a change as possible in a game this complex.
My memory is good for some things, but I cannot keep track of which identically sized square applies to which parts of the torso armor’s surface, which for the lining, and which is for the legging surface or lining. Trial and error is, for me, completely and unnecessarily tedious.
Really? It takes 10 seconds or less to dye a square, observe the result and change it back if you do not like it. This, IMO, would be a waste of dev time.
I think Silverwing has a good idea. If you could select the dye and then ‘hover’ over the square for a preview before clicking that would let you see the result before applying the dye.
It’s not an essential change, obviously, but it’s one of those many things that make the game more friendly. I approve!
