I know, I know — this isn’t DAoC. However, many on the A.Net team has said they were inspired by, and greatly admire, DAoC.

One of the best parts about DAoC RvR, imo, was the Camelot Herald stat tracking. Points, kills, kill death ratio…sortable daily, weekly, monthly, all-time; broken down by class, guild, server; so on and so forth.

So what I’d propose is attempting to emulate that. From the outside looking in, it doesn’t seem that technologically difficult. Give players points (beyond just XP) for each kill based on their contribution to the kill, and have a web-based (or in game, or both) leaderboard where one can see where they’re at on the leaderboard relative to their class, their own server, all servers, etc. The game already keeps track of kills, so it doesn’t seem that hard to publish.

Some things I’d like to see tracked:

- Kills (or “points”)
- K/D ratio
- Points per death (although this is basically just K/D ratio)
- Points per time spent in WvW
- All sortable by daily, weekly, monthly, and all time.
- Comparable within servers, against all servers
- Tallied up in Guilds (perhaps the guild you’re representing at the time) to compare all the same stats above but between guilds

Some I’m probably missing.

Thanks!

I like this idea. I don’t want necessarily KD or those type of stats up (because they encourage to much of an individual K/D mindset) but I would like some sort of ranking system in place (maybe even similar to those in LoL, HoN, Dota2 and other MOBAs).

A k/d mindset isn’t necessarily bad, especially since players who run with a well organized team will dominate k/d leaderboards.
