Legendaries should be account bound and not soul bound.
While I won’t argue about the soul/account bound part, I will argue about it taking +2 months to make a legendary. The game hasn’t been out for two months and there are already a ton of legendaries made.
Legendaries should be soul bound. Its so awesome it should not be easily interchangable between characters. Thats the whole point of being lengendaries isn’t it?
dusk costs 375 gold in jade quarry, you’re saying you can farm that in less than 2 months? along with all the other mats and karma?

What is the reasoning for soulbound existing if there is accountbound (particularly in the case of equipment)?
Feel free to present me arguments for both sides.
Soulbound forces you to get more gear. In an extreme case, if equipment were account bound, you could share three sets of armor (one per armor class) between all eight of your characters (one character per profession), transferring them as you relog – especially easy with a permanent mobile bank access item, though if you have one or more of those you’re probably rich enough to have all your characters geared. Even without one, going to LA is free and doesn’t take much time depending on your PC.
In a more practical, hassle-free case, you could have three sets of armor per armor class – condition lean, power lean, and mfind. Normally you’d need these three types on a single character (since most classes have both a viable power and a viable condition spec, and magic find is useful for event farming). Without soulbound, you could just give the condition lean to your ele, the power to your necro, and go event farming with your mesmer. If you decide to swap builds, it’s as simple as moving the armors around.

honestly the reason people have the stuff now is they either got insanly lucky, or they bought gold and used that to buy what they needed, by causing costs to be so high just to play the game, anet is driving gold farming and botting…..because as long as prices are as high as they are, people will risk buying gold…..
that said, I really think it should be account bound on everything, remove soul bound.
this would fix alot of problems, but, it would remove another gold sink that anet are so fond of….buying new gear sets for each new “toon” you level rather then just passing them down….
the major problem here is….anet’s kitten economy…..they need to fix it…..but the problem is, i dont think they know how without ticking off the players even more by doing a gold wipe and lowering cultural armor and some other prices to reasonable levels.

They certainly should not be account bound. I hate it when people want GW2 watered down even further, when it’s already a soup.
Legendaries should be account bound, i agree if not account bound on use still ok to me.
I dont really want to spend 2 months on an item that only cant be used on one character.
It will FORCE you to play only one character and definitely it is not going to happen. when the legendary holders playing on their 2nd character its like 2 months effort is gone because he cannot use the legendary weapon.
What is the legendary when you cant use it?
There is even a better idea, make legendary weapon just like the skin from HoM. When you unlocked it, you can use on as many item as you want.

Correction : Exploiters have twiligh due to the amount of money they made in exploiting the making of dusk and dawn.
In other words, there aren’t that many legendaries going around by non exploiters.

Legendaries are combat equipment.
Equipment gets soulbound.
I will agree with any other item currently being soulbound like gathering tools, disguises, kits or town clothes to become account bound, but not combat equipment.
