When I saw what was involved in getting a legendary weapon I just said “aw” because I realized that it was not meant for me, I’m not young and I am part of the working force of an industrialized nation, I don’t play this game every day and I care less for dungeons (instance), and unless you play this game every day for months the way Arena net wants you to play it then you are out of luck. (and I’m not going into the laurel currency).
It appears that Arena net has some study that tells them that most of the players are teens or people in their 20s (college students) or failures to launch that still live with their parents (nothing wrong with that) that can play 4 to 5 hours every day without their girl friends (or in a few cases boy friends) complaining.
It would take me more than a year (again because I don’t play every day) to get a legendary weapon and I bet you my left nut that I will not be playing this game in a year or year and a half because there are so many new awesome games coming out just like this one did.
So… my suggestion is on your next game please take in consideration the “other players” and now I open the floor for those that felt insulted or need to show how their point of view is the only right one, so go ahead and tear me a new one.

Give it time, there will be other quested items and ‘gotta haves’ — every MMO has them, this one is just taking awhile to get situated.

One thing I am happy about is that Legenadary’s are only a skin. They really don’t make your character that much better at killing the content. Just looking cooler as you do it, and shows off to others you either are a total geek or you’ve just been playing the game a long time.

I look at Legenadary’s as just a natural progression to playing for a long time. I do keep them in mind when I’m having my fun, but I also am not chasing them down.

They look awesome, and as they should be, are meant to draw you in and WANT ONE!! That’s good! But it shouldn’t be the only thing players are holding onto after hitting 80 and doing most of the dungeons / gear grinds.

In honesty these Legendary’s are about as time consuming as the original Everquest 2001 epic weapons. I’m happy they are not ‘required’ for end game tho.

You make the false assumption the working man/woman cant get a legendary do to time constraints and they may not like to do dungeons . This is in fact a false assumption do to the trading post . The Gem/Gold ratio is far better than the other way around and being someone with a job you would easily be able to afford that legendary if you wanted to put real money into the game. This is of course your choice but keep in mind that having a legendary wont actually make your character any stronger as its simply a skin with a shiny effect (some not even that good ) .

In November, I saw a lot member of the same guild running aorund with legendary weapons. How should I believe that they had everything legally?
This case, I can’t even believe the guild farmed a leg. for One player, since everyone had one already.

I got mine earlier then November iirc, I think late October. Everything was cheaper then, so the item itself was cheaper. I got my precursor for 36 gold 50 silver. Don’t wildly assume, they probably bought all the materials early with gems + cheap precursor.

You dont NEED a legendary, and you certainly don’t NEED to wait a year for something that you will get tired of after a couple weeks (because everyone already has them :/) This game, believe it or not, is still not complete. There are things to be done and mountains to be paved for the road to newer content but they (ArenaNet) are constantly working on the current existing content(they said so in their videos, so it is a fact not conspiracy). They may not of given any real details on legendary weapon aquisition but I’m sure they will make more appropriate ways to get them without grinding your way up a pile of rubbish to look like everyone else.

And I highly doubt they will release GW3 anytime soon in this decade. There is just way to much opportunity here and acres of undiscovered territory.

How is this a problem?

You’re complaining that the devs want people to play longer so put a carrot up to inspire you to play? I guess now you’re going to complain that people try to live their lives instead of just giving up and dying?

I bet if game developers had mental powers, they’d use them to force gamers NOT to grind everything so they can get all the n33t lewtz as fast as they can. Then they’d likely not have to make as much new content.
