I’ve found that many items in GW2 are soulbound, even though a simple account Bound would be more appropriate. I see no point in making all these items like gathering tools soulbound. In my opinion the only thing soulbound should be equipped gear. Other stuff should be either not bound or account bound.

Another thing that is getting increasingly annoying is that the item doesn’t show you the name of the character to which it is soulbound. If I place a soulbound item in my bank, I have no way of telling to whom it belongs.

These are some features that in my opinion worked better in GW1. My other characters can’t even hold onto a soulbound item belonging to another character of mine. This is a bit odd and irritating.

Last thing I would like to see is the dye unlocks becoming account wide again. I know the dyes packs are probably an extra source of income for ANet, but I think people would be more willing to buy them if all their characters have access to it. In GW1 the system worked because there were only a few dyes in the game. Here there are so many that it’s already a task to gather them all for one character, let alone all your characters. Now every time you find a dye it’s not just fun but also a little sad because you know you can only choose one character who can use this cool new color. Especially with the rarer dyes this can be a hard decision.

I agree with this. Just as a simple example, I don’t understand why the halloween scavenger hunt rewards couldn’t have been account bound. It’s been a bit of a chore to repeat the quests on all of my characters.

They should just have all bound items be account bound and soulbound on use. Sure it might lead to some degree of ‘twinking’ but with the way stats and equipment work in this game it’s not going to really have any negative implications.

I especially hate it when the soul bound item has zero to do with my class but would have been perfect for an alt. Even worse are the rare times when I can’t even salvage the danged thing for mats. :P

I liked how MKT’s stuff from the clocktower was soul bound when it should have been account bound.

Same with siege equipment (kittening seriously I have at least 15 slots dedicated to the random crap I get from the jump puzzle), harvesting tools and, like many mentions, the halloween drop. Those shouldn’t be soul bound.

I highly doubt dyes are going to become account-wide, it would be extremely nice, but there’s ‘implications’. However, items being account bound rather than soul bound, i would love to see this happen, too. I thought that when i equipped an item, that’s when it became soul bound. So recently i decided i wanted the heavy auroa armor, and having five alts at eighty with each having enough to buy one piece each, i decided to go ahead, and yeah, found out i was wrong.
