Less soul /account bound items please
Not being able to sell it is the real porpuse of that.
What they should do is to reduce the number of soulbound/accountbound on adquire. Those tonics should bound on use, not on adquire. And what they did for weapons and pets in GW1 was really cool: pets dont soulbound, but they are wasted when you use them to unlock an achievement. Weapons dont soulbound, but do +15% dmg if you soulbound them. I dont think it will destroy economy, as if you want to use a weapon regulary you will end up soulbounding it, and it will add more pets to sell.
I am somewhat content with things being bind to account. However, character bound has to go, especially on crafted items.
If I can craft something on one character, then all my characters should be able to wear it as long as they have proper armor/weapon specs. Isn’t that the point of having a shared bank, after all? Then why am I being forced to level more than one of each crafting skill? Is it an oversight? A misguided attempt for a moneysink? An overworked item designer with a serious case of schadenfreude? Whatever the cause is, it is so awfully warcraft. It literally reeks of 2005.
Oh and don’t forget all those harvesting tools. They are soul bound but I think they should be account bound instead.
I have a slew of lower level harvesting tools that I could use on my alts. After all, its not like they last forever. Since they are used up as you harvest you still need to replace them when gone.
But having them soul bound to the character that purchased them is not very helpful.
Personally I thought the way GW1 did the soul binding was a great way as an incentive (the +15%). It used the carrot as opposed to the stick approach, though given GW2 numbers +15% may be a bit high so even just +5% could work.
Unfortunatly allot of things they did well in GW1 seem to have been dropped for the more traditional (though not as good IMO) MMO style. This is simply one of the more minor aspects.
