My experiences
In the past I have played Guild Wars 1 for many years, and I really loved that game and the story. All the different area’s, the storytelling in the voice of Glint (the dragon), Ascending in the desert, slaying Urgoz in Urgoz warren, Attending the Dragon Festival, and much more…
Geez, everytime I think about Guild Wars 1, I just keep thinking about how awesome that game was! Definitely the best mmorpg I’ve ever played!

The problem
Too bad that since the announcement of Guild Wars 2, Guild Wars 1’s population decreased so much that players can only play with henchmen to do anything.
I understand that Guild Wars 2 has higher graphics, more details, the ability to jump, and many cool features, and because of that and because it’s new, all players moved to Guild Wars 2, and have completely forgotten about Guild Wars 1.

What I would like
I want to see the good old Guild Wars 1 start blooming again like blossoms in the spring. But it isn’t easy; Guild Wars 2 has all the new stuff, features and graphics.
So how can we come up with a nice solution to have both Guild Wars 1 as Guild Wars 2 be actively played again?

I have come up with a couple of ideas. Please look through the ideas, and I would love to see a reply about my ideas, and about the possibilities. Keep in mind these are just ideas, and can be adjusted in many ways to make things work.

My ideas to make Guild Wars 1 bloom again:
- Add a achievements tab in Guild Wars 2 to show the titles obtained in Guild Wars 1.
For example, I have achieved ‘Tyrian Grandmaster Cartographer’ in Guild Wars 1. I want to look up that achievement. To do that in Guild Wars 2, click Hero>Achievements>GuildWars1 and see the achievement Map Exploration with a progress bar (in this case, at 100% for grandmaster cartographer).

- Make Guild Wars 1 currency tradeable to Guild Wars 2 currency
For each 1 Platinum traded to Guild Wars 2, you gain 75 Silver.
The amount depends of course on the value of the currency.

- Make many more armor and weapon skins for Guild Wars 2, only obtainable when certain achievements in Guild Wars 1 are met.
For example, if you want to buy Elite Kurzick Armor in Guild Wars 2, you need to have obtained and equipped it atleast once in Guild Wars 1.

And probably my best suggestion:
- Add a Guild Wars 1 Action Points system.
To explain this: You gain xx action points per action done in Guild Wars 1. These actions can include (AP = Action Points):
> Completing a quest: 10-40 AP (depending on the difficulty)
> Exploring a city or outpost: 50 AP
> Completing the storyline of Tyria, Cantha, Elona or Eye of the North: 1200 AP
> Ascending at the Crystal Desert: 250 AP
> Beating Glint at the Dragon’s Lair: 250 AP
> Exploring a map: 10 AP per 1% of the map explored
> Winning a match in Random Arena’s: 15 AP
> Winning a match at Heroes’ Ascent: 75 AP
> And the list goes on… you get my idea.

These AP (Action Points) are used as an additional currency in Guild Wars 2.
You can trade AP in Guild Wars 2 for many items with a orgin from Guild Wars 1.
Note: Buying items from the list below goes just like a karma vendor. For example, if you want to buy 2 Icy Dragon Sword skins, you need 2x 5000 AP = 10000 AP.

Example list of vendors:

Rare weapons vendor
Buying a weapon requires a Guild Wars 1 character with that weapon equipped
> Icy Dragon Sword skin: 8000 AP
> Urgoz’ Longbow skin: 8000 AP
> Tormented Shield skin: 12000 AP

Luxon/Kurzick vendor
Buying armor requires a Guild Wars 1 character wearing that armor
> Luxon/Kurzick armor chestpiece: 4000 AP
> Luxon/Kurzick armor leg piece: 3000 AP
> Luxon/Kurzick armor boots: 2500 AP
> Etc… you get my idea.

Conclusion
This was a long post, but hopefully I have given you guys some ideas how Guild Wars 1 can be playable and populated again like it was a few years ago.
The implemention of these suggestions will also make it able to sell new copies of Guild Wars 1, and make the ingame cash shop in Guild Wars 1 run once again.
Also, the players who played Guild Wars 1 before can once again experience the awesome feeling of playing Guild Wars 1 with a group, instead of henchmen, and relieve their nostalgic feelings.
In other words, I see many good points in these suggestions. Please take a look at my ideas, and concider them! Thanks in advance!

I empathise with your longing to return to good times, fine memories.

However, just as it is in real life so it is for games—you can almost never go back, and even when you can, it’s never the same.

The good times you had were for that time only, cherish their memory as you move on to greater things.

If you got GWAMM you can display that in GW2. Consider working towards that goal in GW1.

If it’s more of a nostalgia thing, how about recreating some gw1 missions/elite areas as special missions in gw2? Kind of like how fotm recreates historical events like the fall of Rin, but with gw1 players’ favorite missions
