I like the idea of Weapon Skills, but I hate how some of the skills are arranged by default.

For example:
When wielding a sword in your mainhand a warrior gets his mobility skill automatically assigned to “2”. Switch to a greatsword and your mobility skill is now on “5”.

This feels very weird and greatly restricts our freedom to choose keybinds.

Suggestion:
Introduce a new checkbox in the General or Control Option tab called Lock Weapon Skills. This should be enabled by default to not confuse new players.

Disabling this checkbox will allow you to drag and drop one Weapon Skill to the slot of another Weapon Skill, swapping their positions on the Actionbar for the currently equipped weapon combo. Those keybinds should be saved per weapon combo (eg. Sword/Sword, Axe/Sword, Staff, Longbow, Grenade Kit …) or attunement and per character.

Seconded. This is desperately needed! Changing the bindings simply doesn’t cut it, given the fact that you’re always switching weapons, and you don’t want them to be bound the exact same way.

+1 for this, especially because of their whole rearrangement with GS-Guardian a while back. I still get thrown off by it now and then.

i think they should take all mobility skills away from being able to move you around map without having a target. I wouldn’t mind playing a “hammer/axe+shield” warrior, but I keep wanting to have my “sword+warhorn” mobility

I just bought the game and I didn’t realize you couldn’t swap out the weapon slots… more annoying is the fact the functions never even remotely line up from weapon set to set…

It’s really unplayable for me… this and the fact I meet min req’s yet get 17 fps makes me very disappointed with this game

everything else is amazing… sadly

I should also mention there is no excuse NOT to add this feature…

if someone made a third party program/autohotkey script it would work exactly like we want with some minor bugs, and the people with the LEGIT NON-HACK script would get an advantage over players playing by default restricted gameplay…

I have the basic idea of how to get an AHK script working… if i get desperate I might try to make it myself

+1 for justoce, a basic function like this would be awesome, to those who say it’s not needed then don’t use it if it’s available, don’t restrict us who want/need it.

If it’s all in one post it’ll get buried and lost, the more posts then the more they’ll notice it.

I only came in here to say that it’s funny how one guy necros the thread and then another attacks a 4 month old post

Maybe allow remapping the moment you unlocked all weapon skills of your
profession. You can assign keys to your weapon skills of course, so it would be
more of a cosmetic change.

I have 1st skill on mouse button 4, 2nd skill on mouse button 5, 3rd skill on
key A, fourth skill on key E, and 5th skill on key R. Then my utility skills are 1,
2, 3 and 4, and my healing skill is on key C.

Right now I don’t need remapping, but that is only because my build happens
to be mapped just fine, but any other build I would really like remapping so
it feels more intuitive.

I use z, s, q and d to move my character. (My keyboard is azerty)

oh i see i figured it was qwerty, and your keybinding blowed up my mind!

In qwerty it is:

(full action bar)
M4 – M5 … Q – E – R … C … 1 – 2 – 3 – 4.

Best possible key binding for easy and intuitive playing, in my opinion.

Using the number keys for weapon skills, lowers your reaction speed and decreases
gameplay enjoyment. Utility skills have a long cool down, so the numbers are good
for those.

I can’t imagine not having a mouse with button 4 and button 5 on the inside.
