I’m posting this suggestion I’ve been thinking for some time. To address that issue.

There’s no way for players to catch up with players that have been doing many dailies before.

People should be able to earn as many daily and monthly points as they want and can and get exp from them and get to keep all points they’ve earned, but only a max capped amount should get added to their total score, so people can still catch up

Then, in the achievements panel, you’ll see something like this:
Daily and monthly points: 6825/7341.
The first number is the points you’ve acquired.
The second is the cap.
This cap should increase with time. For example, 7 points for each day since release, plus 50 points for each month since release.

The number that gets added to your achievement point score would be the smaller of the two.

If you are a player that makes all achievements, you’ll get something like this:
Daily and monthly points: 12825/7341.
This means you get 7341 points from dailies, and can go without making as may dailies for some time, relax, and play more at your own pace.

If you are a player that left for a while, you’ll get something like this:
Daily and monthly points: 4825/7341.
This means you get 4825 points from dailies, and can catch up by making as many monthlies and dailies as you can, as long as it’s more than they ‘daily increase’.

SUGGEST-A-TRON says:

No exceptions!

Newbies will never catch the top of the leader boards due to past Living Story achievements. I’d like to see a cap in place for an entirely different reason, that of sanity. As a completionist the daily 2-4 hour grind is burning me out. Capping AP would still have everyone advance at the same rate, but dailies/monthlies would no longer account for 50% of most top AP scores. Not to mention I’d get a few hours back I could do what I wanted with.
