Level 80 Only content.
I agree with this post but i will tell you why this won’t work – Anet just want to make content available for almost everyone, not only those with 80th lvl.
And I’m almost sure they won’t change their mind in this matter, sadly.
I also support the idea. Having a few mini-games, other than just PvP, WvW etc. would be amazing. Maybe even a game like capture the flag, where you have to run away from now only players, but mobs that are on their side of the terrain, etc.
I agree with that the game needs more things to do, for example the flag capture that you said. But however, I see no reason of making it 80 only.
Why? Why does it matter if you do a lvl 80 dungeon or a lvl 30 dungeon? The explorable armor you get from tokens are lvl 80 and there are dungeons that are at lvl 80 so they will drop lvl 80 gear. So what does it matter? pvp doesn’t matter if you’re lvl 80 or lvl 1 as you don’t have lvls when you enter. Althought WvW is accessable to everyone from lvl 2 onwards, unless you’re a higher lvl you wont stand a chance without all the traits and spells (elite skill). What could you do at lvl 80 on wow? Daily quests, go to the lvl 80 areas in the game there you will find lvl 80 DE and heart quests. You had lvl 80 dungeons, there are lvl 80 dungeons in this game but you’re also able to do the lvl 30 ones too and it’ll be alot easier. The game has lvl 80 content. Could a level 3 to go to the level 80 maps and do the world boses? No, therefore is it lvl 80 only content? Yes.
But i agree that pvp needs to be worked on, although the 5v5 point capture games are fun, with only 3 maps and 1 game mode, it gets quite boring, but i’m sure in time they will release more maps and game modes, the games only been out a month. They have minigames too, keg brawl is great fun especailly if you play with friends, they also have one in the asura area. They could do with adding afew more though like the one they had in GW1
It needs to be level 80 so that people have something to look forward to while levelling up. It’d be like another way of implementing character progression.
Furthermore it’d split the ‘keveling’ and ‘end-game’ components. So that, the whole game is mostly end game, (as it is now), but when you hit 80 you have a few new and shiny things to do.
WvW is a “Capture the Keep” PvP system where being a true lvl80 gives direct benefits. Being level 80 in PvP while not power wise, but surely experience wise, atleast gives you some edge when starting out vs. somebody that is still lvl1 and never played. All the lvl75-80 locations are (well not truely lvl80) restricted to lvl73-80 characters.
So i clearly don’t agree, and i also doubt you played all the events throughout all the area’s already. You may have done all the hearts and vistas, while running the skillpoints, but it is very unlikely you done 1500+ events in the game. Actually by running to lvl80 as fast you could, you skipped by all sorts of great content, that now feels like it’s missing. So please, just start back at some lower lvl area and slowly work your way upto the higher lvl areas again, i am fairly sure you will run into events you haven’t done yet, NPC’s that provide some minor hint or content you missed.
And if anything, i think more of ‘this’ content should be developed, as designing strictly lvl80 content will just do one thing. It will make everybody run to lvl80 to do this trivial content, to then come here on the forums saying that the lvl80 content is way to limited in amount, and that more things need to be added to ‘end-game’ … aka, we wouldn’t have moved one step further than where we are now with this thread… Go out into the world and make your own story, there are still tons of events to do, and stories to live (or just make a new toon and take your time, pick another race/ profession/ order, and you have a whole new story to live through)

-Go nuts and make a 5v5 MOBA style mini-game, requires level 80. Everything required is there, Everyone should start off at level 1 and quickly(achievable within the hour) level to level 25.
Moba game should not last 1hr, can do level 25 in 30min on dota 2 if you’re the carry.
25-40min AVG game. They could even make a map that combines tower defense and pvp, they goto try something, the current level 80 content is missing and the pvp is just no where near as good as DOTA 2 which is free.
Sometimes we need to stand back and think about why we think the way we do about MMOs. Is it because we came from WoW? What if GW2 was our first game and we moved to WoW…what our opinion be then?
