Guild Wars 2

After returning to Guild Wars 2 after a little break I decided to start a new and deleted all my characters and created a new one. However i never thought I would have lost my Celebration Hat limited time item and would have been able to reacquire it on my new character and any others made in the future as I had previously attained it on my account.

However the item has been disabled all together on the Trading Post so even people who have previously attained a limited time item can not get them on a new characters even though it shows up in the list of previous transactions.

I was wondering if it could be implimented that limited time items are only disabled to people who never acquired them during the time they where available? But keep on being available to people who did get them during the time they where listed after the items end date.

So basically once the item has been acquired it is unlocked forever on that account but if you missed the time period of that item and never got it you can never get it.

That would make them unlimited time items. That was your bad and you need to own it. You made the choice to randomly delete characters without thinking about the possible conciquences, as such you are stuck with the result.

So, no, they should not do that.

That’s your opinion to quickly dismiss this idea but it was actually the Guild Wars 2 support who told me that this was an interesting feature to be implimented and should post it here to pass it on to the development team. There are actually a number of players who have made the same “bad choice” as you put it thinking they would still be able to reacquire items they have previously and legitimately had on their account.

And yeah technically these vanity items will be unlimited items but they will be character/account bound so you can’t sell, trade or salvage them so who cares. I really doubt anyone would want to fill their entire inventory and bank slots with loads of the same item thats only good to them.

You realize that was canned text, right? Any time they get feedback that can’t be easily enacted it is taken in as a suggestion and that gets spit back out.

My suggestion that they keep better track of transactions and not just let me get gipped 2 gold for a dye (a long long time ago) was also concidered “an interesting feature to be implemented and should be posted in the suggestion forum to be passed on to the development team.” To clarify, I was not making a suggestion to them, I was complaining about their lack of service for an issue they caused with the BLTC, back when the BLTC didn’t really work very well or necessarily at all.

Yeah I had the same issue and response before I took my break from the game. I actually asked if they could restore the item but they said they couldn’t do that and also added my suggestion as an alternative to which i got the post in suggestions forum comment which i expected but just thought I would add it any way.
