Lions Arch as the center of the Universe.
Divinity’s Reach is so beautiful. Why do people subjugate themselves to living with pirates?
Because I don’t care about graphic scenery ._.
Honestly (and I’m probably going to get yelled at for this), I find it to be lazy design.
They throw everything into one city, and host all the events in one city, just so they don’t have to work on the other cities.
In GW1, every city had an event going on. All cities were decorated for festivals (as well as all cities had quests for the festivals) and you could go to any city to get things done. Every city was the same basically, just visually different for taste.
But here in GW2, they only stick to LA. They don’t decorate the other cities or put extra festival quests in them. You can’t even use the Mystic Forge in other cities either (unless you have a portable one). They throw everything in LA, and completely forget everything else.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many in Rata Sum as there were during the SAB event. Even during early access it was pretty empty. My engineer was glaring at all the intruders the whole time for that event!
I wouldn’t go to lions arch for a lot of reasons mentioned above you’re pretty much forced there. They did say they wanted to get players back to the other towns but let’s wait and see how many years it takes them to do that

Adding a global chat for all major cultural cities, and allowing access to certain dungeon instances such as Fractals would be a good start.

Mystic Forge and Gate Hub Plaza’s (with access to WvW) wouldn’t hurt.

I never understand people’s obsession with global chat. Why must people subject everyone to their chatter? I’ve seen people standing right next to each other and having a conversation in zone/global chat.
I love playing games where global chat doesn’t exist or is heavily controlled. What ever purpose global chat is supposed to serve it never does. It only serves as a place to spam WTB/WTS and subject everyone to the most inane and often offensive conversations.
I agree that Lion’s Arch has been made a little too important. Then again the lore explains why it’s so busy and important.
The thing with the global chat is: I for myself feel kind of .. alone? .. in the other cities cause noone is writing in the chat and after a while it really gets boring. An other thing is to be able to ask quests in the chat. In an empty city you wouldn’t get an answer :/
