I agree with most of this, so I’ll +1 it. I don’t think Linux support means much, you don’t game on Linux. However, account bound dyes, guild houses (OR GUILD AIRSHIPS AMIRITE?) and Build templates are things I’ve been waiting for!

An increasing number of people do game on Linux, so you’re wrong there. However, Linux uses OpenGL whereas GW2 uses DX9. It would require a lot of work to convert the game’s assets to OpenGL which is why even the Mac client is a bit of a workaround (Macs use OpenGL as well) and is not ideal.
For those of us who game on Windows PCs, it’s easy to assume that everyone else does too, but I suspect the release of the awful Windows 8 has probably done more to drive people to Linux than ever before.

Yup, agree with most of the suggestions and the point of this thread as well. Its been far long ignoring many simple ideas.
The guild functionality and smaller quality of life improvements are the kind of things I wished I was a lead developer for; Id march into anet and immediately re-assign a small team to work on these features. Work their way through a list of simple tasks that require no assets to be created but coding and UI changes, until that list is gone.
I mean, I really dont know what they are waiting for with stuff like guild mail and Motd upon login. It boggles my mind to think how a AAA mmo in this day and age can go a full year without basic stuff like this.
