List of things that should be account bound
I may get flamed for this but:
1- Ascended items
2- Legendary items
3 -Runes & Sigils that are currently soul bound on acquire from MF
4- pretty much any gear you equip should be account bound. So that if you make a mistake or change your build or quit playing that particular character … all that gold/karma/laurels/badges/tokens/whatever form of currency used, isn’t wasted.
And after playing for a year I can’t imagine, if I’d been an early legendary crafter, the tears I’d shed at this point. My main is not really played much anymore and any legendary I would have made would have been a waste.
I don’t even have the mats or pre-cursor for said legendary. I was just trying to point out that builds change, playstyle can change, and main char can change. After all that work it would be a shame to see such things go to waste and there is no exploit since account bound means – no selling.
Devs: Trait Challenge Issued
Dyes: They already mentioned that they decided to make dyes character bound because it represents the progression of your character.
Map coverage: Same thing. It’s a role-playing game, the characters are separate entities.
Gold: You want gold more restricted? O.o
Ascended Item: Ascended equipment is easy enough to get, and isn’t enough of a stat increase to be fretting about whether you have it or not anyways.
Legendary: Maybe not a bad idea, ans has been talked about
Runes & Sigils: Maybe, as long as the going in items aren’t also soulbound on acquire, since MF doesn’t really require that particular character to be at a certain progression.

Most used: Guard/Mes/War/Nec/Ele.

1-The badges are account bound. So run the dungeons on whatever character you want, bank the tokens, withdraw & spend them with the character you want the armor for. The armor isn’t account bound, but you can prepare an alt with your main with dungeon runs.

Yes but that argument can be applied to many things that are account bound at the moment.
Why would it make gold more restricted? It’s just easier.
karma, nobody said it and it would be easier to manage karma if it was account bound like laurels

If only I knew that before purchasing them… I died a little when I realized my warrior couldn’t use them, still, arah is fun and worth it

I disagree. I understand how annoying it might be for a commander to want to play alts, but reputation is important for commanders. Players learn which commanders to pay attention to, and which to ignore. Multiplying the number of names people have to keep track of, let alone the potential for abuse, is not something I think WvW needs.
