List of useless elite skills!
Norn forms dont need to primarily last longer they need to be more powerfull too, fact is you get weaker using them, the skills themselves yeah are about the same as normal weapon skills but you loose all your utilities and your heal skill (and most of them dont have a way to heal even at all)
Moa morph while yes useless in most situation you are so wrong, first of all yes ofc it is affected by defiant since defiant is a protection against crowd control and that is what moa morph is, moa in itself aint weak really the problem is mass invis and time warp in 95+% of situations is just better. and moa last for 10 seconds.
Add Basilisk Venom to the list (thief elite).
It has the effect of turning an enemy to stone for 1.5 seconds (same effects as a stun). Ignores defiant, but is effected by blinds, blocks, evasions, obstructions, and invulnerable (you lose the venom application and it does nothing, in other words). Against players, it can be stun-broken.
So, it’s a mediocre-duration stun attached to an elite skill-sized cooldown, with vastly less functionality than the thief’s other options. However, it is the only elite for thieves usable underwater.
pick any elite from the Warrior class.
I’m not saying there’s no room for improvement, but keep in mind that racial elites are supposed to be worse than normal elites so that a specific race doesn’t become preferred when playing certain classes because their elites are better.
Many elites are lacking in the whole idea of turning the tide of battle, and I honestly find myself often not using it due to laziness on many of my characters…
and style to turn them into craters and dust.” -Tonn
Number-crunching for ecto salvages – periodically updated
Guardian elites. The tome’s don’t really last long enough, and the heals on the tome either do very little, or take too long to cast to where the people you were trying to heal are dead, or you get knocked out of the cast, and by the time you can cast it again, the tome is gone.
90% of elites are pretty terrible…
It’d be much easier to list Elites that are actually worth having over an empty slot:
Signet of Rage – High uptime Fury + Swiftness and some might on a relatively short cooldown (60 seconds)
Dagger Storm – Decent AoE damage + Bleeds and also projectile reflect which is some needed defence on a class that has little outside of stealth (Which does nothing against cleaves and AoE)
Time Warp – Large amount of one of the most powerful effects in the game (Quickness)
Mass Invisibility – Has it’s uses, not great but not terrible either
Everything else either has such a long cooldown that their effects are just not worth it (A lot of “Save it until you really need it” and also just forgetting about it while waiting for the cooldown goes on) or the effects are just bad (Elixir X might be useful, if the effect wasn’t completely random…)
There’s two kinds of people… The quick and the dead”

not to mention it takes a whole second to cast it so only really 0.5second effective duration, so only really useable in a venomsharing build

you kidding right?…
Signet of rage: 50% uptime of 5stacks of might, fury and swiftness assuming no +boon duration, and should you forget to activate it you get the bonus of get adrenaline regen, though you should really have it always on cd it is THAT amazing an active skill
battle standard: not only does it ress downed players with cast but also grants stabilty when cast and, might, fury and swiftness to all allies periodically, and ofc come with the usual banners skills when carried including giving party swiftness, as well as stabilty
Haven’t really tried juggernaut yet myself so cant comment on that but 2/3 amazing elites at least is better or at least equal than all other classes
Yeah most elite skills I saw were pretty useless considering their cooldown, especially on warrior and elementalist. Either make them stronger, of make their cooldown a bit shorter.

… refer to the latter part of my above post please… warrior have some of the best, ele i cant comment on though as i haven’t even been able to get one to 30 (i just cant find a way to play it that fits me i guess, and yes i do inf act have both a thief and a mesmer in lvl 80 and played since launch so in not some newbie that don’t get the game at all)
Meh the Tome of Wrath is just lacking in everything. I use it and it hits for next to nothing and I just think…….why don’t I just run up and hit them with my mace for 3x the damage?
