Listing price --> projected profit.
Its just another goldsink, 5% of profit for listing, 10% for successful sale.
Personally, I think its fine, its probably the best implemented ingame goldsink as it is intended to directly keep the economy in check, just seeing the words ‘projected profit’ should have tipped you off, also it shows the listing fee and sales fee.
Perhaps I’m not looking in the right area but I just see the listing cost below the projected profit, I do not see a sales fee/cost. Also I see no reason that the listing cost should not be removed when calculating the projected profit, I want to know my “projected profit” I mean isn’t that the point of projected profit, so you can see how much money you will make from selling the items after fees? If it isn’t going to calculate it fully then why bother having projected profit there at all?

Oh heck, are you saying that the projected profit shown DOESN’T include the listing fee? I was basing my decisions to sell items on the projected profit because, silly me, I thought the projected profit was the projected profit. Not the projected profit before the listing fee is taken out. This means that items that I thought were just marginal before, were probably under vender price. WHO THOUGHT OF THIS?
That’s very misleading if it’s true. Projected profit should be exactly what it says including ANY fees.
Unfortunately, OP is entirely correct.
Unfortunately, OP is entirely correct.
Feel free to enlighten us?

Well, it was actually something suggested by the community long time ago. I was actually against it, but you can’t always “win”.
Anyways, I’m against this suggestion, changing the projected profit again would just cause more needless confusion.
People who can’t tend to call the opponent troll, scream something utterly incomprehensible
and finally result to personal insults.

Not really, for those that know about the sales tax, they would understand the change, for those that don’t it would enlighten them to something that is otherwise mostly hidden.

What’s there to enlighten about? >_>
The projected profit you see isn’t the actual projected profit, because Anet and the program know that it doesn’t include the listing fee. A true projected profit would be sale price minus tax, minus the listing fee. That way people who don’t know about this issue (and it’s counter-intuitive, so that’s probably a lot of people) can actually make informed decisions about their sales.
As it stands, there are two major issues related to the projected profit:
- It needs to reflect the combined listing fee and tax, and
- The minimum buy/sell order needs to be increased such that projected profit equals vendor sale price.
