Hey guys, here goes my feedback after reaching level 80 on my Charr Warrior. English is not my native language so I’ll try to be direct to the point.

First of all, a quick background of me as a gamer: I play videogames for more then 20 years, tryed most of the MMO’s in the past 10 years, haven’t really got into any of them. Main reasons: not a fan of monthly fees, hate the feeling of how the entire game is designed to waste as much time as possible from the player, don’t like the boring gameplay, and do not agree with the time > skill philosophy sinked into most of these games.

GW2 managed to address most of these problems, which makes me happy. However, there are a couple of things you guys marketed about GW2 and I got the feeling “hm, this isn’t exactly what was announced”. They are:

- “Commodities” that are able to be purchased with gems are totally optional and not necessary to fully enjoy the game.

Not entirely true? While the huge majority of items in the gem store indeed are truly optional, I did not had this feeling about the bank tab: With only 1 character I quickly exausted the first tab, and had to buy another one. In my experience, having a second bank tab was not optional, it was a totally necessity. I wonder what would happen with lots of characters, a collection of weapons/armors etc. Probably I will have to buy more and more tabs. Because of these facts, I wished the option to buy directly with in-game gold would fit better.

- No player will be able to buy advantage over another player with gems.

With the gem < – > gold trade system, players can pay real money for gems, transform them into gold, and buy the best gear available on the trading post. That’s not very positive in my honest opinion, and, it leads me to the third point:

- When I heard about GW2, one of the things people told me was that legendary/epic items only looked cooler, but didn’t gave the players stat advantage compared to lesser items.

I may be wrong, but this don’t seem to be the case? Yellows are remarkably stronger then greens, and so on.

These are the things that made me NOT happy. The entire else did it. Good job!

Now changing topic, let’s talk about gameplay:

1. Why people need to pay a teleport fee to lion’s arch? I find myself hitting the pvp tab, teleporting to the mists, and running forward into lions arch portal to save the fee from teleporting instantaneosly. In my opinion, teleporting from outside to inside lions arch should be free (to counter the behavior I described above), leaving teleporting from inside to outside as it is.

2. Shields. As a Warrior, I did not felt using a shield gave me a notorial defensive buff. Yeah, I know, there’s a trait in warrior defensive build that gives X toughness while using a shield. But my point is: the trait should make using shields sweeter, and not making using shields a viable option.

3. The dungeons. Ohh the dungeons. Something has to be done with them. I only did about 5 of them, all in the story mode. People tell me explorable mode is even harder. Houston, we have a problem. Do not expect people trying story mode with all gear level maxed for the supposed level. Most people enter with a mixed gear ranging from 20 levels below. Wipefests are common… Something is not right here. How about two different difficulty options? ‘cause right now there’s only one: hardcore hairpulling madness.

4. This may be a temporary near-release issue, but most of the Dynamic events I get into with more then 10 players seems to be needing a buff in difficulty. With 50 people spamming aoe’s everywhere, normal mobs evaporate so quickcly that it isn’t funny. Only veteran mobs tend to last longer then 1 second. How about increasing their health a bit?

Also, more free general suggestions/comments just 4 you:

1. While leveling, I didn’t noticed huge changes on my character appearance (armor). I think people should get more variety while leveling, contributing to the overall progress feeling.

2. The map is great and intuitive, however, sometimes there’s POIs or something else that is below your character on a cave or whatever. Hitting different levels on the map with page up/page down doesn’t show these caves. I wish they did.

For the time, I think that’s what I had to say. Overall, great game. Thanks for reading and keep up the good work! This game have much potential.

I knew I was forgetting something…

3. Why no rings/amulets/acessories drop from monsters? Not to mention the “back” slot. I only saw that as rewards from the personal story twice. I wish they started dropping as other things usually do…

4. Travelling using waypoints sometimes feels too expensive, especially if the WP you’re wishing to travel is near you.

5. A Latency indicator would be greatly appreciated.
