With WoW and SWTOR I got the encryption keys for my accounts and feel they do a real good job at preventing hackers (I say prevent because nothing is %100 hack proof).

Would be if GW2 had this for us to buy.

I did a search and did not see this thread, so if its a repeat sorry.

one thing that bothers me is that as a digital deluxe preorder member I have no original game to verify my ownership IF in some way I did get hacked How do you get it back without that proof of ownership? I like this encryption key idea for this kind of situation. Something that you arrange between Anet and yourself derived from a combination of email, CC and password, and maybe home address as well.. all hashed together to give a unique encryption key. This then serves as your proof of purchase if the worst ever happens…

I like the encryption key that Steam uses. If a person signs into Steam using a different IP address then the account is locked and an email is sent to the registered email address with the unlock key. And I’m pretty sure that Rift uses it too.
For online purchases they should issue a receipt number to your email and use that as proof of purchase. I have a physical copy so I only have a serial code.
