Hello… There seems to be an excessive amount of high level players, including myself, that ‘farm karma’ in events such as ‘The Frozen Maw’ in Wayfarer Foothills. At level 80 I get 200+ karma per stage, not to mention a guaranteed rare item at the end. The problem with this is that once I have enough karma for an exotic piece of gear from one of the level 80 karma merchants at the temples, they are never up. Why? Because much of the level 80’s get their karma in lower zones and not Orr. Why? Because the events in Orr only give karma in the 300’s if I recall correctly. Why would anyone do an event like the one for the Gates of Arah for so little karma when it is so much easier to farm karma in the lower zones. Also, no rare items at the end, just a few greens. The rewards for the events in Orr, especially the ones that bring up the karma merchants are not even close to being worth it, thus they are seldom done and therefore the karma merchants are almost never available. Another thing… since the Frozen Maw event is so over-camped, characters who are actually the proper level for this event are lucky to get bronze rewards if any at all. I believe this is a major flaw in GW2 and this is beginning to drive me away from this game. Please consider re-evaluting this and increase the karma for events in Orr considerably. I would suggest at least 700 karma per stage and add a guaranteed yellow in the chest as well. Bring back level 80’s to the level 80 zones…Thank you.

if you wanna ‘farm karma’ you go to wvw not pve anyway. the vast majority of people go to the large DE’s for the rare/exotic drops nothing else.

I don’t like the Orr zones (funny, sounds like War Zones). They ruin the fun in this game. They are annoying and too horror-ish for a Teen Rated Game.

Besides, foes are designed to be challenging but too much challenge gets in the way of “having fun”

I think most of lvl 80’s in the low level zones are there for fun and relaxing after a real life working day and not necessarily farming karma or rare drops
I am there for this reason ever since I finished the storyline which is roughly 4 months by now

Thanks for input, however the reason I want the karma is to buy exotic gear from the event merchants in Orr which are rarely ever up. Where I farm the karma is regardless if I can’t use it for what I want.

I can relate to that and there is nothing wrong with doing that, but that does not offer a solution to…
“since the Frozen Maw event is so over-camped, characters who are actually the proper level for this event are lucky to get bronze rewards if any at all.”
…and that may ruin the fun for lower toons.

I also do not care much for Orr as well, however if there were reasons for more players to be there, it wouldn’t be as difficult.
