I have an 80 yay!:), but now im trying to roll a ranger, it has taken me allmost 4 weeks to get to level 33….why you ask? because im not rich enough to buy all the ingredients to craft my way to 80, also i do not like WvW, and also because i cannot find anybody on my server (Anvil rock), to help with events, i shout in /map…..and what do i get? 2 naked necro’s come running over, and i ask them…..wheres your armor? they replied “we are trying to earn enough to make repairs”……i logged off and now im here. I have tried waiting for “prime time” yea theres alot more on……but there sure the hell not in the maps, there all in lions arch. So anet i think you have 1 of 2 options….merge the servers, and hopefully this works, and number 2, make the events soloable, so i can atleast level up bymyself, because as it stands now it isnt possible unless i want to spend the rest of my life doing it.

At least half of the events (probably more than that honestly) are soloable.

I don’t see how events have anything to do with your levelling. Events are not required for levelling. You can level just fine from heart quests, exploration, killing random mobs, and your personal story. Events might net you a little extra experience (I’ve honestly never paid attention to how much experience they’re generally worth compared to other things) but its hardly the only source of experience in the game.

The only way I can really see events hurting your levelling is if you stop playing and
spam map chat for 20 minutes every time you see a Group Event hoping to find a group to do the event. Just ignore it and move on, rather than wasting your levelling time hoping to find enough to do an event.

Exploration(ive already done on my 80 warrior, i have no desire to do it again) heart quests you will still be way under leveled by the time you 100% that area, killing random mobs? sorry i want to get to 80 in under 3 months. also personal story will also only get you so far, most the PvE exp comes from events. crafting? sure if your have the money. Also soloing the events? yea sure with my warrior no problem, but im playing my ranger, that couldnt solo opening a door by himself.

Personally, i hope they do something like this simply for the sake of running into more people on the lower level maps. As for events, as someone said, all events (barring group events) are pretty soloable, even for a ranger. You may run into a few that it can’t handle, in which case you just move on to a different one.

I would LOVE some of the ungodly amount of servers merged so my adventure can feel more alive due to me running into other players more often and being able to do group events.

Depends if you are planing on getting a legendary for your ranger or not, is where MOST of your time will go legitly. If you just want another 80, it does not take long to get there, doing as what you said you do not like to do.

I could not bother with the legendary, do to not having the paitents for one, if I go down the legit way. But all the mat, Karma, and gold grinding stops me dead in my tracks. I been playing since release, and I got 3 80’s 1 in full exotics, and the others in half exotics. I would had another 80 if I worked on it more I am more then half way there on that character. So it does not take as long as you think, to get another 80.

I think it is time for them to take some kind of action to up the populations across realms, whether it be through server merges or something else – not because events are too hard, but because they are more fun with other people around. Numbers are definitely way too low in many zones.

They just need to add the option of being able to opt into an overflow server for the area instead of playing on the empty home server. Currently, you are put on an overflow server if the home server area is too full. Maybe they need to also do this if the home server area is too empty as well – or at least offer the option.

If you want to get to level 80 faster, exploring combined with the events would be your best bet. Just doing the events to level is going to take a long time.

Also, comeon… ive solo’d everything on my ranger (apart from groupstuff), theyre a pretty survivable class imo.

Also, not sure if you have any tethers keeping you on your server or not, but if you dont you could always look around for a better fit while transfers are still free.

LOL developers allready said full doesnt mean the server is packed with people, that only means the amount of accounts currently on said server, even if they dont play anymore.

Perhaps it shouldnt, but atleast its a way to deal with your issue instead of waiting and hoping for a merge which will probably not come anytime soon.

It most definitely is a learn to play issue, I play ranger on vabbi a server with mid range population, leveled up to 80 in the first 2 weeks (I know its not as fast as some) and have had no issue soloing any of the content I needed to other than champion bosses which are avoidable if there is no one else around to help.

Hmmm not really sure how ranger can be a lrn2play issue……considering you only push 8 buttons, but maybe im doing something wrong, necro has no problem soloing……warrior no problem……..mesmer no problem……..ranger just must be to hard of a class to master :P

It’s not just pressing 8 buttons though, its what weapons to use in what situations, what skills to use and when, character movement, usage of your pet.
The other classes are equally complex whether you think so or not but perhaps they fit your playstyle better and so you learn them faster.
Failing at playing a ranger does not mean ranger is a fail class it means you are failing at playing a ranger.

i don’t know there forums tell me something different, but back on topic, server merges need to be done asap, or anet needs to make every event scaleable from 1 person to 50.(Sorry about spelling) because as it stands, i know im not the only one who really hates playing bymyself, in a group based area.
