defending never happens now, unless a commander is defending, and then still many others are out attacking. whY? it gives better rewards. if defending rewards stay at what they are at, then at the very least, give us more WXP for defending. i am not saying reduce it for attacking, but make defending give twice the WXP compared to attacking. then the hardcore wvw-ers fighting for glory of their server will get the reward they truly want, WXP. this way, the zerg karma trains will potentially have to spend an hour or so taking a keep, and the wvw will become more tactical. if a mindless karma train zerg on blacktide came to our keep we would actually defend it with siege, because on T8 we are a lot of dedicated players. im sure the other servers would benefit from this too. mindless karma trains, meet the legion of arrow carts manned by the defenders!
Only x2? Given the size of attackers with the zerg balls…A successful defense should net x5 WXP on the minimum.
Also, if a zerg ball attacks an undefended tower/keep they should net NO WXP.
PvDoor should never be rewarded beyond the fact you got your server more land on the map.
You defend because it’s stratigicely usefull/fun + you get loads of WXP from killing the attackers, as you have the upperhand (safe behind walls/ safe siege ). Me personally go defend if the commander asks me to, WvW is about Fun/strategic combat(which is fun) not about WXP
Another problem is that an attack nets you one instance of XP gain. A defense nets you multiple instances of XP gain depending on how long the defense goes on for.
I agree that defending should give more, but it can’t be too extreme, or else it could be abusable.
