Recently i came back to play Gw2 and looking through my folders i found a project i started when Gw2 was in PBE about Fist weapons and the diferent skillsets they’d have on some classes. Perhaps now, 1 year into the game and with the announce that there will be new weapons in 2014 Arenanet can draw some user inspirtaed ideas!

I remember this having a good reception when it was created 1 year ago!

So here goes nothing:

Engineer

“Zap’em” 1.Eletrocute you foe with a chance to causing vulnerabilty.
“Overloading flurry” 2.Flurry with electrocuted attacks dealing more damage for every hit, stops if it misses one attack. (locks you in place)
“Electro-whip” 3.Throw a whip at your foe taking him to your position and eloctrocuting him causing vulneravilty.
“Knocking shock” 4.Overcharge your gloves knocking your foes back after a liltle but powerfull shock.
“Dazing charge” 5.Electructe your foes brain dazing him.

Thief

“Precise strike” 1.Hit your foe with a precise fast attack with the top of your fingers.
“Twin strikes” -1 Hit your foe twice with precise and fast attacks with the top of your fingers causing weakness.
“Chi blocking strike” -1 Hit your foe with a precise fast hit with the top of your fingers causing vulnerability.
“Preassure strikes” 2.Side roll and deal a flurry of precise fast hits.
“Vanishing kick” 3.High kick your foe vanishing in stealth with a shadow cloud blinding your foe.
“Shadow kick” 4.Shadowstep to your foe making a low kick crippling him.
“Pushing Chi” 5.Strike your foes with both palms pushing your target away

Stealth Skill: “Hidden ki strike” Strike your foe with charged ki dazing them for 2 secs. If struck from behind target is crippled and dazed for 3 secs

Elementalist

Fire
“Fire punch” 1.Punch the air emitting a blast of fire towards your target
“Blasting punch” -1 Punch again to emitt a second blast
“Blazing kick” -1 Round kick the air sending a third blast of fire to burn your foe.
“Fire geyser” 2.Summon a Geyser of fire at targets location.
“Burning blast” 3.With both hands project a big blast of fire towards you enemy dealing damage and leaving behind a line of fire.
“Fire coat” 4.Surround yourself with fire burning close enemies
“Burning cyclone” 5.Spin to send blasts of fire in all directions.

Water
“Water pistol” 1.Send a fast blast of water applying vulnerability
“Chilling winds” 2.Summon a cold blizard above your foe blasting it down, chilling and bleeding it.
“Coating ice” 3.Hit the ground blasting an ice coat immobilizing nearby foes.
“Cleansing waterfall” 4.Blast a waterfall healing allies and removing conditions.
“Will blocker” 5.Envelop your targets head with water dazing him.

Air
“Air blast” 1.Blast a projectile of air to your foe
“Blasting air” -1 Blast a projectile of air to your foe
“Hurricane blast” -1 With both hand send air to your foe weakening him
“Slicing wind” 2.Cut through the air sending air blades to cripple your foe.
“Direct Lightning” 3.Charge a Lightning to direct it to your foe applying weakness.
“Blasting retreat” 4.Move backwards knocking back all the foes infront of your original location.
“Favorable winds” 5.You and nearby allies gain Swiftness for 15 seconds and quickness for 1 second.

Earth
“Stone punch” 1.Summon a boulder and punch it to your foe.
“Stone kick” 2.Summon a boulder and kick it to your foe to make him vulnerable.
“Incoming wall” 3.Create a wall of earth infront of you to block front attacks and send it towards your foes to damage them
“Spiky ground” 4.Step on the floor to create a spiky ground to cripple foes.
“Earth trapwire” 5.Bend earth to trap your foes feet knocking them to the ground.

I Actually did all the profesions but i thought this ones were the most fitting ones and i definetly would love to see them IG!

I believe there is a version of each in game already, some of yours actually do repeat. it’s like frost shock, fire shock, earth shock and etc. same thing, different effect.

The only class I’d like to see with martial artistic combat is the Thief, its the only class to that this “weapon” does fit.

I’d like to see Elementalists among a Sub Class System getting a way to specialize into the Arcanist-Style, that combines elemental powers in a more melee specific way – yes-, but i see more the Sword, the Greatsword, the Axe and the Mace as also the Short Bow and the Shield in those place. So basically all the weapons, that the Elementalist uses already as conjurable elemental weapons.
By making that change, the conjure weapons could just get integrated into the weapon skills and the Elementalist could receive some more useful new utility skilsl and 1 new more universal useful Elite Skill, the current Fiery Greatsword is way too OP, it should get toned down as the fire version for the general Greatsword Weapon Skills of an Elementalist.

For the Thief i’d like to see Skills like these rather:

Auto Attack:

1) Twin Claws > Elbow Dash > Empty Palm Strike
Two precise hits that deal bleedings per hit followed by a consecutive fast Elbow Dash that stuns the enemy for a second to deliver in that time a final powerful thrust attack with the empty palm through a rotating fast move that strengthens the push effect of it to send the enemy flying, launching the foe away from you by a range of 900.

2) Shadow Runner
Performs a Shadow Step over a distance of 1200 in that you quickly change directions while moving towards your target enemy. In the time you perform that move you dodge automatically incoming attacks and when the move ends, you end up being in Stealth for 3 Seconds. When you are in Stealth, this Skill changes into “Explosive Trap”, which lets you lay down a Trap Mine, that explodes if an Enemy moves over it, dealing damage to all surrounding enemies like a Cluster Bomb being fired and letting it explode in the air. But instead of Bleedings, this explosion leads to Burning and Vulnerability

3) Heel Kick
A powerful kick, that launches the hitten enemy high into the air, basically working like a knockdown (when the foe falls down back to the ground) letting them suffer in that case on fall damage. Its a Charge Skill, so this means so longer the skill got charged, so higher will the foe get kicked into the air.
The Skill turns into the Skill “Grave Digger” that lets the Thief jump into the air to grab the foe in the air to smash them with a Piledriver Attack into the ground, what will deal serious damage, if the foe was at the moment under 50% health and will weaken enemies, if they should survive that attack.

4) Wire Strangulation
Uses many hidden wire ropes to strangulate a foe with them that will immobilize and torment a foe letting them suffer on damage for every skill the foe tries to use, while they are immobilized through that skill. Its a multiple stack immobilization/torment, so if you have no stun breaker/universal condition clean with you, that skill will fixate you for quite some time and let you suffer on a strong torment still, even if you can cleanse after a while the immobilization, unless you use something, that cures multiple conditions at once. The skill once used turns into Deathly Fist leading you to pull the target that you catched with the wires to you to perform to the pulled to you foe a mighty strike that is always critical with an additional 5% of critical damage added to the attack and which strips off 2 boons of the foe, as also ignoring Aegis with the hit. If you use this attack, it will end automatically the immobilization/torment on the foe after the attack.

5) Twilight Exchange
Performs a defensive Shadow Stepping Move, that moves you directly into the back of the targeted enemy to dodge that way any incoming frontal attack, if someone tries to attack you, while you perform this skill. So this is a channeled skill that triggers its shadow step, if you get attacked while the channeling is still running leading to an automatic dodge.
It will automatically repell also the attack back to its source, if it was a projectile.

Thats imo the ultimate Attack List I’d love to see for for Thiefs and Fist/Claw Weapons with martial artistial punch/kick moves that use the z-axis and shows that the Thief is a very agile, fast paced and acrobatical class, that can also perform mid air combos, that do look awesome (in its own way – I just described here now my personal dream gameplay for thiefs, based on my own inspirational game with skills, that would basically fit to the Fist/Claw martial artistic/acrobatic scheme of thiefs, using some signature moves from that inspirational game, where i think they would perfectly fit into GW2 too and the Thief here)

fist skills as duel would be nice, nothing u beat up mobs but nice to have a Bar fight in LA. Dont need but such super effect fights just a normal good old school fist fight brawl is enough.
