Like we need another Commander idea?

1) Refund the 100g to everyone who bought the commander title.

2) Make the commander title go to someone completely at random, but allow that person to transfer the title to whomever they wish. And every 24 hours of one person holding onto the title, or if they log-off without transferring it, it should transfer to a random person.

Why? This allows someone who gets it randomly, if they are smart, to pass it to someone who would really use it. Thereby the server gets to know smart commanders, and respects them.

This also allows everyone the chance to be a commander. This removes the ridiculous 100g cost, which just encourages gold spammers. And it also removes the problem of having multiple commanders on the field at once.

Yes, we’ll still have an idiot commander at times, but everyone will know.

As far as the commander’s abilities, those need some attention too, but I won’t weigh in on that because a lot of people have already put forward good ideas.

Oh and every 72 hours it should transfer randomly regardless just to ensure that one guild or group of people isn’t completely hogging the title.

The commander title has high price for a reason. Getting 100g to afford it (unless you shelled tons of RL money on gems) means you spent enough time with the game to know what you are doing. Random commander? = Random guy who joined the armed forces shouting orders (in GW2’s case putting idiotic instructions on for others).
