Tomorrow is the birthday of a friend of mine.
Why don’t gift to him some Golds?

He have a new character, so 10 or 20 gold can be a good gift.

How to do that:
Buy with my account gems.
Convert Gems with Gold.
Send Gold to him…

But… if spent 20 euro for 1600 gems… I convert it in 9 gold…
Are you “kitten” kidding me? o.o

A Gold Seller ask 20 euro for 50 golds… 6 times cheaper.

So… why a players should buy gold through Anet and not through a Gold Seller?
There is no point in it.

Make Gem cheap… and nobody will pay goldsellers.
If the Gold Sellers flourishes it is Anet foult.

No, I’m not saying that I bought money from a GS (check my account)… I’m saying that i don’t want waste 20euro for 9 gold (check my account too. :P).

I’ll buy to my friend a book. -.-’
Kitten kittenly kitten” …

Sorry for the spelling mistakes, is not my language. :P

Unless I’m mistaken, I thought the Gem-to-Gold rate is way better right now than when it launched, and steadily getting better. Meanwhile, Gold-to-Gem has to be inverse of that and players are complaining about that as well without thinking about “why” that is.

If you overlook the fact that it leaves you open to being hacked and is a bannable offense, both of which cost you all your invested time and money, then yeah. There is no point in buying from Anet.

What? I don’t think the OP understand economics. If ArenaNet made gems cheaper, the gold-to-gem exchange rate would rebalance itself to compensate.
