If they made the boxes cheaper at temples that may give all servers more incentive to clear and do temple runs. Maybe 1000 karma cheaper at temples that are uncontested than anywhere else in Orr. This could extend to other things now, or in the future.

It’s a decent idea, but it would be very susceptible to exploitation. If I have a million karma then I could spend an hour organizing my guildmates, recruiting players in map chat, running pre-events, etc… or I could just Guest over onto a high-pop server where the temple is open and make my purchase there. Or I could just check the map periodically, wait for someone else to clear the temple on my own server, zone in, and buy the stuff.

You might be able to make it work by providing the discount only to those players who participated in the temple-liberation event chain. However, it’s still a bit of a gimmick. If you really want players to run temples then the most obvious answer is simply “improve the loot.”

Yea that makes sense. Maybe make the NPC special and last only 5 min or something. Then the regular npc would be there. I really should do temples though to have a better picture.

Honestly, the daily chest for clearing the temple and then gaining access to it’s karma merchant is enough. On a lot servers now, the temples are run as soon as they reset by people wanting to get the daily chest. If you love taking temples, perhaps it’s time to move to a more popular server, or at least guest to one.
