The game is still rather new, but from what I’ve heard and experienced, a lot of people are bothered by the fact that endgame is rather grindy. We were told that it wouldn’t be.

The problem seems to be that it’s more rewarding to farm a ton of mobs with MF than it is to do anything fun. So what’s fun in this game? Well it’s pretty obvious that mostly DE’s, WvW, jumping puzzles and sometimes dungeons are the things people consider to be enjoyable.

So why not make these more rewarding? I’m not saying it should be really easy to farm by doing a small event, but atleast make some difficult and long events more rewarding than they are now. One idea I had was to let every event give you 2 random items depending on the difficulty, the average time you need to complete it and the character’s level. Even low level area events drop something for higher level people, not quite as good as what you would get in higher level areas, but almost there. To even things out, you could perhaps even give some cash instead in the lower levels if the person doing the event is past a certain level, or improve the vendor price on those items.

This would mean you could play with low level friends and still make some progress towards the endgame. Or if you wanted faster progress, you could go do events or hard puzzles.

EDIT : One other thing, one of the strengths of GW1, besides it’s PVP, was the endless possibilities when it came down to making your build. The options in GW2 are not as limited as in a lot of other games, but it’s still nothing close to GW1. I know it’s a tough thing to balance, but what if people could take a few skills from other weapon sets in their main skill bar. It could work if those skills lost some of their effectiveness if they aren’t native to the weapon you are using. Perhaps combining classes for a hefty penalty like in GW1?

They should make content more rewarding. In dungeons it feels like i waste of time time clear mobs, defeat a boss and get trivial rewards. I see the point your trying to make and i agree with it. When we hit 80 we still can explore and participate in dynamic events however we simply don’t get enough rewards. As you mentioned while playing with a friend and completing dynamic events we should get gear near our level since are stats are drop in lower zones and we’re pretty much to par as out friend, just different level. Also just a thought, to encourage 80’s to get back in the world maybe we could be rewarded Badges (Like you get in dungeons) that allow us to purchase gear. From various objectives such as reaching an achievement and completing Dynamic Events.

As for the being an 80, it shouldn’t be difficult to make money as it was at level 20. While looking through the Trading post I’ve seen items for 40g and up. I’m not mastermind when it comes to making currency on this game so i feel like I’m at a stalemate. But I’m not sure if they want people to buy Gems which convert to Gold so they can keep money flowing. Maybe that’s why it’s so hard to make Gold.

That would be neat, native and non-native weapons but weapon skills are relative to profession so having every profession able to wield any weapon is basically translating that ArenaNet would have to make profession specific skills for every weapon. Your not going to see a Elementalist performing a Guardian Leap with a greatsword.

Although a work-around would be having more than 5 standard skills for each weapon type. Being able to choose from 5+ skills for a specific weapon type and only being allowed to put only 5 skills on your left skill bar that you can utilize.

Why do you stay on games all day? I respond:
-I’d rather control the T.V. than just watch it

You got a point there, would be indeed better to just increase the options per skill slot in the main bar. Even 1 or 2 extra choices would increase the possible builds dramatically.

I agree on the majority of the post. What gets me is the events pop up often, and sometimes pop up constantly, even when there are very few people on any giving map, and when you do kill that vet or champion, they mostly reward vendor trash, and also, if said person on the map did the event once, that said person should not have to do it again.

So many times I complete an event, and just by wandering in the direction of where the event took place the first time it gets triggered, again, and again, and rarely ever see another player in the general area. I am sorry to say, constant events killed Rift, and I would rather not see the same demise in GW2, and it is not looking good so far.
