I’m a few weeks into the game now and playing a ranger, currently at lvl 74 and as many of you starting to wonder about lvl 80 exotic gear & weapons, where to get them, which stats I should look for and so forth.
I believe many other players also enjoy the diverse set of activities that GW2 lets us play and also recognize the fact that different engagements such as a dungeon run, mainstream PvE activities, WvWvW etc. demands a flexible approach in the way we should be able to equip ourselves.
Jumping into to WvWvW, I would like to be able to select my Longbow & Shortbow, trait power/crit build on the fly, put on gear I collected specifically for WvWvW.
Jumping into PvE content, I would like to be able to select my Shortbow & Axe/Horn set-up and trait condition duration & damage, put on gear I collected specifically for PvE.
Jumping into a dungeon run, I would like to be able to select my 2H Sword & Axe/Horn set-up and trait into a supportive build, put on gear I collected specifically for Dungeon runs.
The point I am trying to make is that I would like to have the ability to select an armor set, trait distribution and weapon sets based on a template I can create for myself which would support my diverse playstyle by managing this through the use of simple templates.
This could be done through the Hero Panel for example where up to 5 templates could be created by us, the player, however still paying for account respect costs whenever you switch. Items can reside in your bag or in the bank, once you select template A for example, all relevant pre-selected items are worn automatically and traits would be re-distributed accordingly. Weapon sets would be swapped regardless of whether the weapons are in your bag or in the bank.
Simplifying the way in which we choose to play would enhance my experience and lower my barrier for enjoying all content GW2 has to offer without having to go through a multitude of activities before I can enjoy a new activity.
I hope the above makes sense and can be considered by Anet.
