Map Improvements
Noone else thinks these would be nice improvements for the map?
I think this is a good idea.

I would like a toggle to display all players in my immediate area, if not for the entire map I am on. This would help me determine if I am going to be the only one present at the current DE.
That’s a good one, too, Robin.
I’d also like to add that Asura Gates should reveal their destination when you mouseover them.
Optionally, have the reveal only if you’ve been through that gate at least once
during beta we were able to see all teammates no matter where they were in the server. But if they were in Overflow they didnt show up in the world map zoomed out… I am assuming this was the in there and it either stopped working or there is still too many overflow situations that you can not see the teammates location in relation to you on the world map.
After some study of Overflow meathods used in GW2 its not what we think it is… indeed the added overflows seem to cross sample servers and put people from many different servers in an temporary zone. Try asking people what server they are on when in an overflow and see what response you get. Like Lions Arch you get at least 3 different servers typically all merged together to handle the overloaded servers in that zone. So its not District style as it was in GW (which is why we dont just say LA district 3 everyone meet there) Its a overflow of many servers being queued together to handle the population demands. The loin teammate function IS now working as designed and as such you can join teammates with a right click on their icon when in the same zone and be put together in the same overflow… Bla bla bla Too much talky talky But needless to say I think there is a shared world map overview in there for all team mates to make it easy to know where to zone to to met up with them.

Asura gate destination identifiers on the map.
Replace: ‘Takes you to a distant land’ or whatever
To: <Actual destination name>
I don’t mind if it only updates once you go through the gate, but I would love love love to see the destination name of the gate on the map.
It is a bit annoying to have to run up extremely close to each gate just so to determine if that’s the one you want.
Hi,
Suggestion #1:
I would like to suggest for the repositioning of the “World Map completion data” elsewhere, or make it “hidable” (if there’s such a word). It blocks the borderlands on the left side when viewing the world map.
Thank you
Suggestion #2:
Actually, I don’t like it at all. There is no consistency between the loading screen and the world map. It is confusing most of the time when one will look – at the bottom of the screen or left side of the screen.
If it is below in the loading screen – which is the most we see, then unconciously, our brains expect to see it at the bottom too when viewing the world map. But it’s on the left side.
So that’s suggestion #2, consistency.
Thank you
I was meaning to suggest that in the OP but kept forgetting.
Just having the gate’s destination show up on mouseover (once you’ve been through them of course) would be wonderful as well
