Material List for Legendarys is just Ridiculous
If you think that’s a grind you should see all the grinding involved in GW1 or any main stream MMOs, lol

Well, since this is the Suggestion sub-forum, instead of just complaining how much time has to go into the Legendary weapons, why not suggest some changes that could be made.
Besides, Legendary weapons aren’t needed. They’re just something else to work towards.

Its CRAZY that some people already have legendary items, we’re not eaven TWO months into the game yet.

@Noob – as a suggestion; just play and sell whatever loot you get and buy your legendary mats on the TP. I ran both crafting skills to 400 in the first two weeks of play with no concerted effort, just sell the swag I collected and outright bought the specific mats I needed. At least for me that was an easy and straightforward process.
Hey in gw1 I could get anything because I could always find a way to get it or make the money to buy it… this isn’t true for gw2. Hell crafting is easy already have 8 crafter’s all at max level. But 100 lodestones, heck there isn’t even that many on the ah for-sale, if I could afford to buy them. @TheDaiBish.9735… As far as suggestions it’s not rocket science maybe 25 lodestones instead of 100 or increase drop rates(that make you happy, I am sure no one could have figured that out without my help). The facts are people are complaining in post here and other forums about how broke they are all the time…. this game has no way of making money without a ridiculous amount of game play. The ah is a joke and needs to be a free market system, not controlled by big brother.

I wasn’t implying the suggestions were easy to come across or not, but you made no offering for suggestions, which makes this thread just another QQ thread about how you can’t have your shiny stuff now.
I don’t like the RNG for the pre-cursor weapons, so I made a thread about that offering suggestions rather than QQing that “RNG sucks, I shouldn’t have invested in this game”.
Everything else I’m personally fine with. It’s something for me to work towards, whether or not I get it 6 months to a year from now.
As for the market, don’t you put in the price you want to sell stuff, and the price you’re willing to pay for stuff?

The materials for the legendaries are fine, they’re long term goals even if it takes a few months or even a year to craft them that’s acceptable. What isnt accepetable is that the precursors double in price every week putting them out of the hands of all but exploiters.
I guess if you have no life like me then maybe, but I can spend 15 hours playing each day and I still find the hoops to jump thru to get a Legendary weapon plain stupid… what a grind… as a matter of fact the game after 80 as become a grind to get materials for armor etc… just not worth it… I regret ever even investing in the game.
Then uninstall and leave, Legendaries are supposed to be a grind. They said it without even hiding it that getting a Legendary will be no small feat and will require a lot of grinding.
If our stories hadn’t started as we are the heroes, than it would have fit better that we have to work for the legendary weapons to become heroes but as long as they have forced our characters to be heroes from the start, why don’t they want them to have legendary weapons easier?

Because everyone would be running around with a legendary in their hands? At which point all that effort = useless? Might as well stick to your normal gear.
Look up legendary in the dictionary.
There are people getting these after the game’s been out for a month, with minimal assistance from others.

Have you played any other MMOs? Most of them restrict the really fancy items to people with enough clout to round up another 10-40 people to help them. Usually you have to convince at least some of those people to wait in line for a mere chance at the coveted rare item. Others who help you won’t get any chance at the item whatsoever – they come along for the fights because they like you or because they’re hoping to get decent scraps that you leave behind in your trail.
The worst part of the legendary grind has a whopping 33% RNG chance. That’s huge. Some of the rarest, sought after items I remember from my WoW days had drop rates of about 1%, ~5 to 25 people you had to compete with to get it, and week-long lockouts to even attempt to obtain it. You could try to get the thing every single week for years and never even see it drop – rare mounts, mainly. For legendary weapons, they never even had the courtesy to offer such weapons to all classes – they’d restrict such things to, say, only warriors and rogues for 6 months, then swap to only offering one for casters for another 6 months.

<sits down in the rocking chair on the porch and shakes her cane angrily>I was under the impression that Legendary weapons were meant to be for the most hardened, experienced, skilled and dedicated players: owning one is something of a badge of honour.
Just because it’s in the game, it doesn’t mean that you have to get one. I think it’s important to cater to both the hardcore and the casual and give them both things to achieve that they can be proud of. Legendaries are for the hardcore.

If they build games for hardcore players than only the hardcore ones will play it. The others will just quit. If that is not so, than why have they done publicity for it on the website? Just to make the majority more disappointed then they already are?

If they build games for casual players then only the casual ones will play it. The hardcore will achieve everything there is quickly and easily, get bored and move on.
There should be something for everyone – if they make what is designed to be for hardcore players easily accessible for casuals, then it’s not really content suitable for the hardcore anymore, is it? Unfortunately for casual gamers like me and perhaps you, that means that ‘legendary’ really does mean ‘legendary’, and has a difficulty appropriate for a feature with such a name.

This Legendary weapons are simply skins, nothing more. They are no better than exotic weapons are.
If you think getting legendaries in this game is a drag, try getting your empyrean’s or black belt from ffxi… (those who played will know it was 10X worse…) Be glad it takes only “your” time and not a whole group organization to get 1 or so item(s) off mobs with 2-4 day respawns.
