Heya! I have always been fond of playing a thief, and while I love the gameplay, I just can’t get over how little variety of armor there is! Perhaps this is because I play a female Charr and the details/quality is lost in the stretching, but the many coats all seem bulky and awkward rather than the flexible and light look I’d imagine many thief types would be going for. Perhaps we could see a larger variety in the future, and maybe even some ‘sexier’ outfits to at least get it up to par with the other armor weights?

Totrally agree… coats, coats, coats, and more coats. Sad, isnt it. I have 3 Female Charrs and the Mediun armour (even though it’s on my main) is the worst. Really hard to get good looking.

On the other hand, my main is a light armour wearer and I’d love to have a coat or two to wear.

My female medium armour wearer would really like a skirt to wear.

I would love to see the whole armour system defenestrated and stats applied to whatever we want to wear. I know it won’t happen, though.

heh, that requires a global stat system, where you can wear every single armor there is but the stats are adjusted according to your profession.
the game isn’t good for such a system, it’s to much in the traditional fantasy world.

They can add armor set pieces that only drop from dungeons. For example, run CM for the tokens for the vendor gear, or get a drop of a new skin that’s only available as a drop in there. And since CM is geared to players around 35ish (?) you’ll have access at earlier levels.

Gem store armors have been quite nice but I don’t like the idea of having to buy the good looking stuff from a store as opposed to getting it by playing the game. I get that Anet wants to make money, and that’s fine (I’ve even bought a Megitech set myself). But they’ve literally introduced zero new armor sets that are accessible in-game by way of playing the game. It’s either gem store or RNG ticket/boxes.

I wonder if Arenanet could use something similar to this outift created by Kekai Kotaki (not made for Guild Wars, though).

It needs some tweaks for GW, but it’s not too much revealing, it’s looking good and can fit a Engineer, thief AND ranger.

The problem is that Kekai Kotaki leaved Arenanet in june 2012. But I really love the design!
