Merge characters currency.
Would also be nice to have Karma account bound instead of player specific.
Thief 80 | Elementalist 80 | Mesmer 80 | Necromancer 80 | Revenant TBA
Yea Karma should definitely be accessable via all characters in one big pile or one could add a deposite of karma into the bank tab. It would save altaholics some times in gearing their alts. This is the main reason for the backlash this company has had for the lower drop rates, crafting was supposed to make it more horizontal the progression and in order to craft one must go out and get drops. Well can’t really do that when all of the drops that make anything either almost never drop from random heavy bags that one can’t really consistantly rely on getting much less dropping the mats one needs (I’ve opened about 136 recently got a single powerful blood) or rely upon getting them (those I’ve received have been mostly bought because I hit DR every 6-8 enemies now)
Karma would be much more useful if you added ascended gear to karma vendors, made Karma deposite in the bank so that one could combine the karma in order to gear alts.
Solution: Keep your money in the bank rather than on your individual characters, and withdraw it when you intend to purchase something.
Example: I never have more than 25s on any character – plenty for repairs/occasional WP use, and maybe resupplying gathering tools. Any time I go over that, I deposit it next time I have bank access.
(It also helps those with a bad impulse for purchasing things a lot!)
@Karma, store up the liquid karma jugs and whatnot from dailies/dungeons and bank those rather than use them. Same sorta deal.

Yeah that is a solution, but the point of what I was bringing up was more so about the hassle of it all. Why not make it shared?
After practicing that a while, I don’t think it’s a hassle, but… to sorta answer the question: Independent currency tracking makes a bit more sense in the overhead for a similar reason to items like dungeon gear being soulbound. It’s easily manageable and prevents cut corners when it comes to farming and utility between alts.
I’d go so far to say fully fusing it to account-wide for everything is actually oversimplified, but that may just be me speaking from an already-accustomed standpoint.
Acct.-based Karma takes away from the individuality of your characters from a design perspective. I’m a mechanics-minded person, and so I also see why this suggestion is being made. It’s easier. But then there’s no deeper connection to your character (if you have any). There’s different types of people playing the game, and for some, it’s a way to show devotion and time spent on a character. If things are character-based, then you can show it off as something this character earned.

This, too. This is why I said it would feel oversimplified if everything was universally account-wide.
aside from karma what about making the gold thought.? I mean unlike karma you can give it to your other characters by putting it in the bank, but seems like a hassle just to share money to other characters.
They should go make their own coin I prefer having all my characters separate as I like them each to have their own identity, history and situation.. having a lowbie doing well at trading and getting rich is nice and the bank deposit makes things fine if someone needs a loan from another character.
- Coming from an altaholic and Roleplayer, having everything merged would certainly diminish my fun and sense of achievement.
