The thread title might sound like another “nerf the mesmer” thread but really this isn’t about nerfing their damage or anything like that but rather it is about removing something I personally find ‘confusing’ about the class.
When fighting a mesmer, I find that I cannot tell the difference between a mesmer clone walking up to me for a shatter and a clone just walking up to me to attack me. It might seem easy but you don’t notice the shattering until it starts and usually it’s too late then. The change I propose for the shatters is to make them stand still, glow then teleport directly to the target to explode. I believe this will make mesmer shatters easier to spot and easier to dodge but also gaining an element of a larger spike.
The second change I’d like to suggest is a chage to blurred frenzy, I believe it is quite a defensive skill on a short cooldown and the cooldown should either be increased or the skill should be change to not give invulnerability but rather cause an evade for 2 seconds. The evasion change will make them vulnerable to “on hit” procs like retaliation and fiery aura and I believe either of the above changes will encourage smarter use of the skill rather then the constant spam of the 2 sec invulnerability every 10 seconds that seems to be happening now.
These are my suggestions and obviously just my opinion on the matter of mesmers.
