I never understood why in beta the mesmer illusion graphics/sound were changed such that, when killed, make Engineer explosive noises. An illusionist is more majestic.

I would rather have different sound effects and please no more orange puffs of Engineer smoke with my magical glass shattering illusions. Why not make it magical glass shattering noises, or something with less gunpowder involved? I know yall can think of something better.

It’s called “Shattering” not “Exploding”!!!

I know yall have a good art team…so this needs a change. I sincerely thought it was a placeholder sound effect/visual effect when that change hit…and here we are in mid-February.

i agree, and also…because guild wars is all about personalization and graphic rewards and “looking awesome” ways to change the shatter effects either by rolling them into some traits for fun or somehow allowing us to pick from several effects or even colors….for abilitys….and perhaps something other than butterflys for the shatter.

well for me i have a trait that has a shatter on me. but ya the shatter it more of a explosion that a “shatter” but sometimes i do see my clones crack and shatter to peaces like a puzzel. i have never her the gunpowerd explosion. what i have knotaced is that al te F1-F skills make a diforent noise to what effects happen
F1- ping noise like the great sword skill 1
F2-more of a woosh woom i know not a good description
F3- more of a dass drun tap
F4- ping noise same as F1
just what i had knotaced from playing a mes

I’d pay gems for them to change the shatter graphic/sound effect. It does not fit.

mmmh… when i use my scepter and i use it a lot, each time a fourth illusion spawn it kills the first i created, the illusion will explode in a smoke but the sound is definitely a boom followed by the sound of a shattering glass…
btw the mesmer is very noisy sometimes, i started using a scepter because i couldn’t bear the sound effect of greatsword.

Well I think that clones making engineer explosive noises when killed was meant to be a placeholder graphic/sound that stuck. There’s nothing explosive about a mesmer. Take the gunpowder out of the class please!!!

mesmer IS purple and butterflies, hope anet wont listen you
you can always change dyes or skins, i see a lot of purple dyes+mist weapons mesmer. i wear abyss/silver/gold and i really like it.
back to the op, a glass sound when shatter would be amazing. the visual effect is fine for me tho.

You will never get the ability to change skill color, they are goign for e-sport status which means abilities need to be easily identified by the class…the classes are very obviously color coded to help wih this.

I don’t think either of the two posters above understand my point. I LIKE the pink butterflies and glass-shattering effects that occur upon shattering.

I DO NOT LIKE the explosive booms that happen when clones are killed. They should still just shatter but give no shatter effects…or do something other than explode because they have no gunpowder!!!

Please remove the engineer kabooms from my mesmer’s clone deaths. Thanks.
